Sorry i don't get any of this.I go when time, family,business and money allow.Its a 340 mile round trip but i'm not after any badges, i do it for me and my team.However i also go to other sporting, cultural events for the variety of life and am not keeping score for bragging rights.

Lived in Guildford for 14 years now and have had my ST since 1979. It is only an hour in the car so not really a chore. Feel lucky to only be an hour away. Woking/Aldershot the closest teams and have no interest in other teams. Once an Albion fan forever one.

When I go to uni, hopefully Bristol I suspect I will share a ST with mum and try and get back when I can but I'm sure it will only ever be the Albion for me, you can't change your team.

I'm the opposite... I moved to Brighton&Hove in the mid 90s (from the North!)

Seagulls are therefore my 'adopted' team. Given that I haven't been back "home" in a decade or so, I think its fair to say I've severed all ties with the past.

Were I to leave Sussex now (not likely!), I suspect it would take *at least* another decade before I felt the urge to adopt a different team (as change becomes harder as you get older!) regardless of distance or other commitments.

I've NEVER seen two English clubs play each other where Albion were not involved...I've seen England v Brazil at Wembley, but I only want to see Albion matches! Turned down tickets to Luton v QPR when they were both in the championship...and would turn down any two other English clubs. Brighton til I die...

I have lived within walking distance (just) of Chelsea FC for the last 20 years. I think I've been twice - for which I needed a small bank loan to buy the tickets

Don't think I am the furthest away ST holder by a long way.

You'd need to go along way to beat 2 of our members who have season tickets, they got them to be sure of getting seats for the opening game against Doncaster. I myself used one of them at the Derby game and they have been sold on to other members returning to the UK.
Seagulls Downunder now has 165 members across Australia & New Zealand, you may move away from Sussex but you still support your club through thick & thin.
Many of us have been season ticket holders at sometime or another, as the saying goes you can take the boy out of Brighton but you can't take Brighton out of the boy no matter what part of the world you find yourself in.

Brighton have been my club for 15 years, no other club will ever mean more than Brighton does. But at some point I do intend to move away from Brighton and though I will still go to games whenever I can, when I can't go and watch Brighton I will go and watch a local team. It's not the same, I've been to a few games as a neutral and it is weird but I've always gone with someone who does care about that team, and if I did go and see a local team I would only ever want to go with someone who actually cared about the team. If that makes me a bad fan in the eyes of some, it doesn't matter. Everyone has a different perspective, and mine is the result of knowing fans of a lot of different clubs, and being brought up watching every live game on Sky.

I have recently moved to Warwickshire and am now about 15 miles from Coventry. I had to let my season ticket go, but I'll always be Brighton. I now do as many away games as I can and will try to get to a few homes games. I just don't get it how someone could watch another team. I could get a Villa season ticket for less than a Brighton one, but that would be like cheating on my wife with her Mum (and no, you wouldn't want to if you saw her).

I live in Teesside during term time. It's a five minute train ride from the Riverside stadium. It would be too far for me to go to the Amex, but I would definitely consider getting tickets to see away matches that Albion play in Middlesbrough or surrounding areas.

I went to Uni in Huddersfield in 2000 when we played loads of teams up North in div 4 (sic). i had a car and went to 17 away games and loved it. Didn't go to too many home games though, although I got a ticket for the championship winner v Cheaterfield on Ebay ( :
I live abroad now, but as others said it's amazing how unbreakable the bond is. Have to follow on streams, seagulls player etc but came home for Bonfire night and saw the home game v Barnsley ( :

If you moved and had another league club within a 15 min walk from your house would you still watch the albion games? If so what would your cut off point be?
I would travel 50 miles or around 1 hour. Anymore than that and i would scale down albion games and go local.
What say you?

My brother lives in Leeds and would NEVER support/watch them. He's Brighton through and through. Are you??

I live near Lougborough so do as many away games as I can and a few home games when I am back visiting home turf... I did think about following a midlands team a few years back..couldn't do Leicester, Forest or Derby so looked at Notts County or Burton Albion when they were in the conference so went for the latter, unfortunately at my first game in the Burton end I suddenly found myself wanting Histon to beat them, which they did...I felt a bit silly when I shouted at the lino for flagging the histon striker offside! Was lucky to get out alive! No more messing for me, I can watch no other team than my team...if I can't make the games I just listen to that berk Aspinall on seagulls player commentary with a beer in hand! We'll beat Reading on Tuesday!
