It’s a documentary rather than a Biopic, but we’ve got a film called “Mavis”, about Mavis Staples, made by Jessica Edwards. It’s wonderful, goes right back to very early Staples Singers days and includes the clip from the Band’s film The Last Waltz which is the Band and the Staples Singers singing “the Weight”, which is just sublime.
I don't won't to like them, but they end up being compelling viewing. Enjoyed both Rocketman and Bohemian Rhapsody, but actually less glitzy Hollywood fare such as Nowhere Boy being particularly memorable.

The recent Alan McGee one was pretty decent
