Can't see this happening either way unless there is a sending off. I doubt either team will perform as they did in the away games this year. I think it suits us if the first leg is close and only a goal in it at most. Given Palace's home record compared to their away record, I would be delighted with a draw and bring them back to the Amex (that doesn't mean I think we are guaranteed to win at home but just that our chances will increase).

Your just too good for us , I'm dreading it .
I'm not surprised you are. Still, stranger things have happened, and we all know your players will fall over in the box, so you've got a chance.

It seems a lot of the Palace posters are saying "Oh Brighton are the favourites, you're going to smash us/it'll be easy for you" - Is it just their way of having something extra to gloat about if they win?

By telling us how we're obviously going to beat them, if they get to the final it'll be like "HAha, you was supossed 2 be better dan us u r crap lol dis is better dan da 5-0"

17th. My dads birthday.
16th, the day before the game, it wasn't exactly a hot bed of confidence on here.

I hate these threads. I had a look at the Palace BBS in the week running up to the 17th March and it was full of confident discussions about celbrating the win in Brighton and how £10 was fair value for the beam back to watch Palace stuff us for the 2nd time this season.

I already think that losing 1-0 away will be a decent result with the high pressure 2nd leg at home.

We're most likely to be favourites like the 2011 game, I'm worried there will be a repeat.

I do wish you'd stop posting stuff like this, it's rather unsettling.

I know, but I do like the confidence pouring out of every related thread . I'm dreading it tbh and feel it could be all over on Friday :(

Foolish to talk about wrapping it up early and it's always dangerous to predict but I think we must come away with a draw. Even if we lost by a single goal I think it would make it very difficult to go through as they're more than capable of scoring at The Amex. So keep it tight for first 25-30 minutes, keep our heads (absolutely imperative that we don't get anyone sent off) and then try and score ourselves. I'm pretty sure that will be the game plan but their defence is their weak spot so we must attack on Friday whenever we can. Lua Lua must start, his form and pace could be a key factor especially if we are going to play on the break. I just hope we don't sit back too much as that would invite trouble and we know that Palace, no matter what their recent form says, can have a great half an hour and score 2 or 3.

The original question was if either side blitzed it, would the opposing supporters turn up for the return leg?

The most we have lost by is 3-0 this season so I can't see us losing by more. If the worst was to happen the fact that we have had some huge wins at the Amex means anything is possible.

I think the 1st leg will end up as a draw.
