ok if the the none AMS are allowed to get final tickets, just think how much they will spend on a new shirt, maybe a scarf, even a bloody keyring - 1000 keyrings at £1.99 silly example I know.....

As long as it is order of:

Season Ticket Holders
AMS members & family
the Gloryhunters
anyone else....

Not a silly example at all. Very good point. Are you listening DK and MP? Don't let the rulling junta of the offical supporters club overule the majority view for once.....

Why is it that if you are not an AMS member you are considered a glory hunter.
I've supported the Albion for nearly 15 years. I am not a season ticket holder or an AMS member but that doesn't mean I'm not a real fan.

brighton, actually
getting tix...

what is stopping 'neutral' fans getting tix, from either the opposing club, or thru the league / millrnium tix office?

havent been able to see (afford!) tix this season, tho a
trip to sunny cardiff might be fun... be naffed if i am
paying an extra tenner just for the privilege of buying
a couplr of tix this season, or does the AMS run 'for life',
or just a year from when you buy it?

I agree with you there. There were long periods when I couldn't go to any matches. Work commitments and starting a family took presidence. Money was tight and there was no way I could justify paying out to attend matches, as much as I may have wanted to. But I never stopped following the Albion, and they are the only club I've ever felt any emotion for, happy when they won and down when they lost. If anyone ever asked me who I supported there was only one answer.
We need as many fans as possible if we get to the final, thats the only important thing.

They will want to sell as many tickets as possible, so £10 extra sounds a bit steep. If we play Bristol City, they'll probably sell 35,000 tickets plus.

It'd be interesting to see how many we took if we got there. I know there were 32,000 at Wembley v Notts County, but we've had a period of 6 or 7 years now where casual fans haven't been able to just turn up on the gate. These fans are a huge part of the support on big occasions. Plus it's "only" for promotion to Div 1, not the Premiership, and the last final was at Wembley, which is a lot closer to home than Cardiff, and had the history and tradition which attracted people in it's own right.

In all honesty, I think if we sold 30,000 tickets we'd have done fantastically well.

I agree with Edna - I think all those (including Harty) are kidding themselves if they think we would take 35,000 to Cardiff. Wembley was fairly local, easy to do by train, cheap for coaches and easy to take the kiddywinks to.

Ignoring the fact that Cardiff is in Wales and I object to paying to get into the Country, it is a Bank Holiday Sunday, trains will be hard to get onto and expensive. Driving from here is going to be a 5 hour haul when you allow for the traffic and the notorious problems getting into Cardiff and finding somewhere to park on final days.

It is going to be a very long day for families and also fairly expensive. Many may then decide to watch it on Sky instead.

Don't get me wrong - I hope if we get to the final we take a sizeable following. I just think people need to be a bit more realistic and then don't start bitching if people don't/can't go to the match.

same here. i have supported club for 22 years but since most games i go to are north of birmingham so we dont usually sell out. and i cannot afford to go to more games because of 3 kids, that makes me not a real fan or a glory hunter. dont think so. dont see why i should pay £10 to become a member either.

There is the little matter of ACTUALLY getting there first.

However, if/when we do make the final AND if the announcement is still forthcoming from Prescott we need every last man, woman and child to go to Cardiff to show the level of support there is lying dormant until we get a stadium able to accommodate them.

Season ticket holders and people like the programme sellers, golden goal ticket hustlers and the like should get first pick of seats. Seriously, these people generate cash for the club at every home game and deserve a decent choice of seat. Then AMS members and then everybody else needs to be encouraged to go.

There must be NO barriers for the lost thousands to re-kindle their support for the club.

I think this would be the most important thing rather than taking the attitude that if you are not an AMS member you cannot go, which will seriously reduce the level of support.

As you said we are not actually there yet but after season ticket holders and matchday staff would it not be fairer to allocate tickets based on the actual number of games attended rather than just saying AMS members first. My point is that you could buy an AMS membership in order to get the tickets but not have attended any games this season and would get priority over someone who may have attended 20 games but doesn't have a season ticket.

I'm not an AMS as I don't go to away games any more (can't justify to the family) but I'm sure I'd get away with the play off final and the away leg of the semi. So I'll just have to shell out the extra tenner.
