We had loads of attacks in the first half, but couldn't break down an organised defence, no shame in that given our predicament.
No way can you dress that game up as a bad performance.

Slade and the whole squad called it a "must win", a "cup final." A home game that could see us a step a step closer to survival. What happened? Cox had a shot, Davies had a good chance and that was it. We kept a clean sheet, but that is not all we need. You dont win games if you dont score. We havent scored for 6 hours and 10 minutes.

Tranmere we didnt play well, because we had to win, and we didnt achieve it. A draw against an organised team is not a good result in the situation we are in, especially on the back of two shit performances against Walsall and Yeovil

It becomes a lot easier when you just accept that we are down, I'm looking forward to next season already

I must have imagined Glen Murray running at their players in the box then!

I never said it was a good result in the first place, I said it wasn't a bad performance.

I just mean that in the context of the whole season Tranmere was an improvement on what has happened before, and taking into accout that half the team is out injured, 0-0 isn't a bad performance against a team like Tranmere.

Fair enough. But our players always talk about how we can beat any one on their day, how we should be them, we should that lot. End of the day we dont. That is why we are 22nd in the league.

Tranmere was an improvement on the Walsall and Scunthorpe games, but it still wasnt good enough. But I cannot remember us ever losing to Tranmere at home in recent times.

As for Murray, he played brilliantly, but didnt score. And injured himself for the rest of the season

tonights game will be shocking 2 poor teams on a poor run of form but if we scrap a one nil off someones arse in the 89th minute i won't care. 3 points tonight and go into the Swindon game with a bit of confidence and who knows.
But anything less than a win and...

Exactly. Tonight isn't going to be pretty, but if there was ever a game when all that matters is the result, then this is it.

If we somehow do get a win tonight, then we go into a very winnable game on Saturday with renewed optimism, on the pitch and in the stands. Win that and it looks better.

If we lose tonight, or do anything but win, the realistically it is all over.

we are going down, and we wont get a win for the rest of the season imho, were dire, and i really think we could be the worst team in the league, i mean, FFS even chelts are trying to make a fight of it! Us though? :bla: << thats all we do! Talk talk talk, then fail on the pitch.

The problem when a team is on a losing run is that a setback knocks the stuffing out of you. Teams on a winning run have a belief they can overcome setbacks.

We are at that stage in the cycle where we just need to keep clean sheets for a few games to build a bit of confidence. But we can't afford that luxury. We have to win.

It is not going to be easy.
Spot on. And although I still think we'll go down, you never know what victory at Hereford might do to confidence. Certainly any less than 3 points there and we're down.

Part of me thinks that this is why the injury list is so massive.

If we were winning games, and challenging for the title or promotion, then some of the players would probably play on through the pain.

As we are always losing, and playing shit as well, part of me thinks that some of the players dont fancy it. So with a slight knock, they can be out for a couple of weeks, miss four games and shirk the responsibility of whats happening on the pitch.

The players dont look like they want it, and an easy way out of being blamed for the mess is not play through injury, or use injury as an excuse for not being at the top of your game

There just seems to be a distinct lack of fight or desrire to get out of this mess!!

BHA Need to win 5 of their last 7 games, and probably draw 1. Simple as that, if they can do that. Stayyyying up & Sarfampton Away is on the cards.

So many are doubting the effort and commitment from the players this season and now is the time for those players to ram those comments back down our throats. If they don't we are dead but if they can give a damn sight more than they have been then there is a chink of light. The other big problem of course is that we don't ever look like scoring a goal at the moment and it's gonna need someone with big balls to throw themselves in there and stick the ball in the back of the net

They way I'm looking at it is that we have a good manager in RS and he seems to be doing the best he can with what we've got. You have got to admit that results aside, we are playing slightly better football than under MA. Not amazing but better.

Now if RS was appointed earlier on in the season he may have had exactly the same results when he started here in March but with more of the season to go, meaning that eventually we would start seeing the results come through. Probably not loads of wins but more wins. Enough to keep us up I'm sure.

Now whats to say that those results that will "start to come through eventually" wont start coming now.

Yes, its right at the end of the season but so what ! I like to think that 7 from 3 in the next seven days is possible especially against Hereford, Swindon and Colchester. Dont forget that any manager will need a breaking in period and maybe RS has just gone through his !

Yeah I know that more people on here are accepting the fact that relegation is inevitable but I'm not throwing in the towel until its "mathematically impossible".........

Not going to Hereford tonight but will listening in with bated breath... I believe we'll get a 2-0 win tonight..

"especially on the back of two shit performances against Walsall and Yeovil "

However you account for the 5-0 hammering of Yeovil - and yes, they were very poor - you simply *can't* describe the Albion performance on that day as anything less than positive. We've had enough struggling Cup matches against lower league opposition to know that you've still got to beat whoever's in front of you - and scoring FIVE means we *can* hit the target. Even without Fozzie and Murray.
