If Micky Adams is the answer...

I'm not worried about Mickey it's the players who are to balme.

Please tell me you are joking. Micky needs to be given time but everyone knows that Micky is getting it completely wrong at the moment.

Yer lets blame Virgo for not playing well on the wing shall we?

I am very worried about Adams. I have always seen Adams as a manager who's success has been based on energy and building a strong team ethic. Very different from a more cerebral, tactical manager. Nothing wrong with that but I think that the energy, or his ability to generate the energy, has gone and without that there is very little else. I can't think of a situation where a manager like him has bounced back and his recent track record provides little encouragement.
I really hope I am wrong and am that I live to be deeply embarrassed by these comments but I have no faith right now.

Best evalution of Adams I have seen.

We will finish 15th/16th this year, I can sense it.

No I am not joking, given the injuries to our squad and what he has to work with against a club like Leeds, who in their own right needed the win more than us,I blame the players for not stepping up.

Today was always going to be tough. It was obvious that Leeds were gonna come at us and try and put on a show for the home fans. For this reason I was hoping we'd play Virgo centre back and maybe El-Abd in there too.
Our only chance was defend like hell and then use THORNTON to hit them on the break. We were never going to outclass them.

Apart from that we were on 4 from points from 6 games! We would be looking at a minumum of 9 points from those games so it is not just today that I think has people questioning Micky, it is a culmination of the last 4 or 5 weeks.

MA is the manager and picks the team along with the tactical decisions. Today it went pear shaped just before half-time and then he brought on 2 subs to play down the wings which didn't work because Leeds swept up the pressure when we had possession.

Like Mickey said in the pre match, I want the players to go to Elland Road, stand up to them and protect the lead. The players didn't. Even Savage said he'd get stick from the home crowd and it wouldn't affect him? I agree I'd prefer El-Abd and Virgo is a natural centre back. However I am not pressing the panic button. We can still sign/loan more players, get players back from the injured list. I say be patient. To use an example last season Crystal Palace come out of the gate last season hovering around the relegation zone before they gelled and kicked into hoigh gear and made the playoffs. I hate to the example in this instance but our squad isn't gelling is it?

This is my first ever posting on NSC having just read comments over the years. Having seen Btn this season Mickey has some serious decisions to make. In my opinion playing Virgo in midfield is wrong, he lacks ability on the ball. If Adams deems him to be one of his better centre backs play him there or right back if Whing is not at the races. I'm certainly not convinced by Hawkins.
Livermore keeps providing uninspiring performances so lets do something about it. Starting Cox in the next game on right midfield is a must now and he has to prove his worth. Adams has to make natural changes without panicking, square pegs in square holes. There is still time for Btn to get up the table and challenge for 5th or 6th place. Oh yes, bring Lynch back to the club please.

Tactics, playing players out of position again, playing the same back four time and time again. Hawkins and Thomson clearly not fit, but still playing. The buck ends with MA....... I love the bloke don't get me wrong, but we're heading backwards not forwards.

I agree with some of that, but why Cox through?! The last good game he had was against Millwall at home, last season. Why don't we give Lofty a chance.....

I recall all the moaning in the off/beginning of the season regarding our midfield, Mickey brought in talent and some are still moaning. Some people just are not happy if they haven't something to moan about. Sad.

Yes but then he leaves Thornton on the bench and opts for a centre back in his place.

Apart from losing Lynch I am very happy with the squad he is developing, even if they are on loan. But i am not happy with the way he is using them.
He is giving Hawkins too many chances and has he seriously not seen that VIrgo can't play in midfield?

Agreed with that. Virgo will definately be playing centre back against Hereford and i would like to think he'd be playing alongside El-Abd.

I agree. But the old approach only carried him so far and then stalled. I think he may be trying to re-invent himself, so far with little success.

It baffles me too. We were absolutely pants yesterday. Rubbish, rubbish, rubbish.

Can't see us getting relegated but can see us going no higher than 12th. Very mediocre - that's us, that is.
