The best time for the FA/PL to act and punish Man City for their (alleged) transgressions is now, before the season has started (so obviously they will wait until Christmas).

Supposing the PL decided that expulsion from the league was warranted, who would take their place ? Would it be the Championship play-off losers, Dirty Leeds ?
Or would we play a season of 36 games ?

Anyone know what happens in these situations ?

Whatever is announced, there there will be appeals - both within the FA system and external to it through the legal system. Nothing will happen for a long time, if ever.

Man City have the most expensive and skilled lawyers out there. I'd be amazed if anything meaningful happened

Sadly this. I explained that to my parents this very morning. @El Presidente on a radio prog a couple of years back said that Abu Dhabi didn’t just engage the top London law firm for this, they went and hired the next best too, and the next. @El Presidente …. I hope I’ve got this correct?

These firms in the so-called Magic Circle charge up to £1,500 per hour. A cheating petro nation have bottomless wealth.

Imagine just how hilarious it would be if they kicked out Man City but also found a way to deny Leeds a place in the PL

They would find that way - they'd go for one less relegation from the PL rather than another newbie getting promoted. I think that's what happened in Scotland (and I'm sure someone will be along to correct me if I'm wrong!)

If you are referring to when Rangers got liquidated and the new club got admitted to the 4th tier of Scottish Football then you are incorrect.

Dundee who finished second were promoted from the First Division to the Scottish Premier League. Airdrie were promoted to the first division and Stranraer were promoted to the second division. In the case of Airdrie and Stranraer they were promoted as the losing play-off finalists and the teams that actually finished second but were knocked out in the semi-finals of the play-offs were not promoted.

Leeds are promoted (and so on down the leagues).

I may as well start a thread about the possibility of me marrying a supermodel and becoming Shah of Persia.
Life could be worse....

They'll get a 10 point deduction....suspended for eternity, a slap on the wrist and told not to be naughty
You obviously haven’t read all the detail about what they have done. 5,000 leaked emails show it very clearly. It doesn’t matter how good the lawyers are they will be getting more than points deductions. It is more a case how many divisions down they will be relegated.
