300k for Bergkamp ? :lolol:

We'd be lucky to get half of that for those players.

I'm thinking Hoskins 250k, Noone 1.2mill, Dunk 1.5mill, Harley will go out on loan, Dicker and Sparrow will leave at 150k between them, Bergkamp will probably have another year in the reserves, Poke will go to League 2, Painter will stay as back up once we've secured Joe Mattock and Ankergren will be going back to Denmark

Think there may be a couple of shocks in store, with Bridcutt, Dunk and maybe even CMS going to release funds for the type of signings Gus wants to take us to the next level. Its not just about who we want to get rid off but who wants our players, there will be lots of sharks circling with deep pockets.

People are here are not very realistic who do they think would pay in excess of about £600k for Dunk. He is worth no more than that to any club at the moment but maybe as Gus can see his potential so he will stay with us I would think. Everybody including Gus and CMS have said CMS is going nowhere, my only concern would be if a low premier side like Fulham come in for Bridcutt in which case I would go for Danny Murphy and cash. The players the OP said about selling wouldn't raise £500k between them in fact most would go for nothing or next to.

In fairness Bergkamp did start 2 games for Rochdale this season, gotta be worth at least half a million

I don't think the OP is very far off here in terms of who to keep and new acquisitions.

I don't think we'll get that money for many of those leaving. Personally, I would keep Dicker too.

I think the goalie should be an experienced player, like Harper. I wonder if Gus will unearth an 'unknown' striker possibly South American, either as the 'main' signing or as a backup.

I honestly fear for our hopes of keeping Bridcutt, Vincente (obviously) and CMS, hell, maybe even Buckley if someone fancies a punt on a young winger.

Would be nice to see a new keeper come in, maybe even someone like Tomasz Kuszczak who is, I think, out of contract this summer (on loan at Watford and we'd be a step up from there, if a Prem club comes in for him then obviously no hope).

Offload some of the dead wood such as Dicker (please) and Painter (PLEASE!) and replace with Mattock and...well...who knows? I reckon there'll be at least one 'name' this year, as long as Gus gets his way of course!

Who on earth would pay that money for those players? £300k for Berkamp :lol: Who would pay that for Harley and take on his £8k pw wages :lol: I do wonder what planet some of our fans live on when it comes to finances and business.

I know.

I have heard rumours that Norwich are coming in for bridcutt in the summer. So that could be valuable funds for a few signings. Should have let Cms go in jan to reading when they came in for him, I was told they offered around the 4 million mark. Dunk on the last few appearances has been woeful, would let him go in the summer if the right bid came in.
If those sales all came off you would be looking at around 8-9 million for new players.

Dunk 3 million
Bridcutt 3 million
CMS 2-3 million

A new goalkeeper, 2 strikers, 2 central midfielders, resign Vicente, resign Mattock, and maybe add another new defender if Dunk goes ( unless Hall stays and steps up ).

Looks expensive.

Yep definately unload fringe players, having someone (or 9 of them) on £80,000 a year sitting on the bench or playing in the reserves is just burning money, a squad of 25 plus kids, JFC+Hall (aint bad!) should be enough.

sell fringe players Harley, Poke, Casper, Sparrow, possibles Dicker and Painter
If offer for Dunk is over 3 Million sell him and over 2 million for None if better replacement is lined up
By Striker to play with Macca somebody who can link they play better from midfield to macca to give him more goal scoring opportunities like Jason Roberts, Mattock and a versatile defender who can play center half and right back with to give competition with Calderon, buy new first choice Keeper with Brez as number two, and sign amazing strong central midfielder, then replace any players who leave

As for people saying they would sell macca give him a chance we all know what he is capable of we just need to help the team help him

ohh and keep vicente

The man who gets no mention here (save in the original squad list) is the Number 9. Now I'm not going there again (see threadX58) but I wonder what odds I could get on Barnes being top scorer again next season? mmm?
