It's funny how expectations determine how you feel about these sorts of things. As so many have said (and I'm sure you guys are bored of hearing) if anyone had told me we would be 4th with 5 games left after we had lost our first three of the season I would have called for the men in whoite coats. Yet now it feels like almost a disapointment. I think it is just a football supporter thing.

For me without thinking too hard I'm worried that we will miss out on the play offs and worried that if we do make it we will come up against you guys or Bolton. But then if I do think rationally about it all, we've done ok. I think it speaks volumes that there cannot be a team in this division that will do the double over us, that has to give confidence (at least to me - the team seem a bit lacking in confidence at the mo huh!?).

It would be amazing to make the play offs and knock out Bolton in the semis and then beat you in the final but it could so easily go the other way. Such is this division this season. It is crazy. I think the overall standard of teams (except maybe Cardiff - but only just) is poor. For us to have been up around the top for so long with the defence we have is astounding, likewise Hull and Leicester and dare I say it you guys.

So to answer the original poster from an actual Palace fan...
I should be happy to be where I am and if i think about it I am, but I'm a football fan and therefore fickle, over ambitious and blinkered so I'm feeling a bit flat and expecting the worst.

There - yet again I have said alot and at the same time not really said anything. Hey - it's a skill.

A real post from a real football fan. Not a blinkered Palace goon (today anyway)!

.....If I was a Palace fan I'd be pissed off that Palace fan George Boyd, Championship Player of the Month, chose Hull over Palace on leaving the Posh and has been on fire ever since.

Inspired signing . Looks like he has got them promoted . Impressed with Steve Bruce . Good manager

Football being football, we could be 4 points in front of you come Wednesday, with a game in hand !!
Lots of twists and turns to come yet .

I had to look quite hard to find this thread and posting.

You're not, but you still have a game in hand though I will concede, but then so do you at the moment it appears.

Good on you for coming on here after that.
He's a decent poster. It's Glenn_Murray, 5zero, EaglesEatSeagulls (or some shit name) I'm looking forward to seeing on here. I'm not interest in taking the piss out of Palace posters that haven't been giving it the big 'n here all season.

Do you solely blame Holloway?

He's taking a pasting on Holmesdale this evening.
Yes he does.

Me too. The guy has single-handedly turned an automatic promotion winning team into what should be mid-table also rans. We may still yet sneak in the play offs but on current form, that would only mean more heart-ache.
