He didn't like booing or crowd shouting shoot, so I wouldn't hold your breath.
It’s an easy life for him though.

He can give 75%, Mrs Potter can teach Pilates and, if it works for three months, he can take another offer from somewhere “better”.

Those standards turned into relegation form which you accepted but you expect top 10 form instantly with a manager change?

Now that IS bizarre
Because we missed out from top 10 by a point, you’re also choosing to miss out the context of that poor run. We were 8th until Mitoma got injured. I don’t see that being any better with potter in charge. I’m happy to be proven wrong, but I really really can’t see it, going back as a manager (bar Moyes which in itself was an odd scenario) has very rarely worked.

With half a team. I do agree those remaining were playing quite poorly.

Offensively, we have more proven weapons since Potter left.
He was only using Mitoma as a sub initially, RdZ gave him his chance.

What is bizarre for me is Potter coming back.
Still don’t think it will happen….

And what are the standards you expect when a manager is first appointed?
To achieve what we have already, we’ve publicly as a club say we want to be a consistent top 10 club. If Potter can’t achieve that (which I personally don’t think he can) they’ve gone backwards no?

Balls!

Moyes, Mourinho, Zidane, Lennon all returned and did well

Your anti Potter agenda is in full flow again. Sorry @Zeberdi, it needs calling out
MY anti Potter agenda? Have you read this thread and looked at the “likes”?

there were definitely articles all be it in the tabloids over the last week or so suggesting Potter had little interest in a return to club football and was waiting for the England job.

No not at all. I'd like to think consistent on this. Potter developed some players very well (not Connolly) and made them sellable assets. Particularly Bissouma, but some players hit the ground running from the Championship like White and Webster which was great.

He transformed the style of the Hughton team and managed to keep the defence tight. He's not all bad. And the end of 21/22 and start of the following season were mostly very very good.

But I hated watching his team for 2 and a half years when I think we massively underperformed in that period with some quality players. And i think it's uninspiring to go back to the days of those winless runs and the non scoring project or whatever it got called.

If he comes in and smashes it from the off then great, I'll happily eat humble pie and you and Swansman can happily tug off on it. But then what? He'll soon be off to a big job again, understandably.

So recruiting him to me feels like a backwards step, a dull appointment and a step back in time. And that's without even venturing into the manner of his last departure which upset an awful lot of supporters.

It's...not great
This 100%

Nope. It will be brilliant.

When he is winning us games, progressing the club again, I absolutely GUARANTEE you will not be calling him a ****.
“When” is doing a lot of work here for a manager who went on multiple long winless runs and who presided over one home win in a calendar year

This thread is going to be gold when he inevitably joins us again, and actually does really well.
I would hope that everyone would back the team….

Of course it will also be gold if he fails…… seem some very passionate points of view on both sides.

And yet the Potter lovers here keep banging on.
