I've received a fair few PMs today, since the passing of bhaexpress became known, about how the deceased should be recognised on NSC.

I can think of a few we have lost - Robert Eaton being the most well known probably, and not too long ago we had Evan, defrocked priest. It's hard to believe that there hasn't been one or two others - maybe only occasional visitors who simply stopped coming, and their absence may not even have been noticed.

I really have no idea if anything is required or is even appropriate. As such, I'm not even going to make any suggestions. But if you do have an idea about how we could remember those that have left us with the ultimate flounce - please do post below.

Maybe we could have somekind of graveyard forum. No posts alowed but the RIP thread could be sent there, at the right moment for all to read.

Could have some kind of memorial sub forum on this site? Nothing fancy, perhaps just a forum where those that have departed can have a thread (if appropriate) and where fellow NSC's can leave messages. Perhaps move the defrocked Priest and BHA Express (and if till around Robert Eaton thread) onto that sub forum as a start.

Possibly something like the memorial stones, but er.. do a better job and make less sombre.

Or a great thread in the sky.

An " In Memorium " section Bozza. A good and respectful idea. Shocking news about bhaexpress, just 57. I only heard about it from this thread. One of the best posters. RIP.

Too formal me thinks. When I go, don't want those around me to be constantly reminded of my death. Seems wrong for Frank especially.

I like the idea of a dedicated memorial thread , had a peek back at some of the threads and posts Evan posted and brought a smile to my face for sure .

I always thought it would have been a nice touch from the club to have incorporated a memorial somewhere around the ground for all those who passed away in the years between the Goldstone and the Amex (and since of course) there is something unique and truly amazing about the battle we fought and it would be quite appropriate and somewhere that fans could remember anyone they knew who followed the stripes in whatever way they wish.

I would happily put a few bob towards that

Hither (sometimes Thither)
A cabinet of sculpted brass moonies that rises from the ground in a rented bit of earth just outside Selhurst at a random time of every month. Everyone RIPed enough gets their own moonie, modelled on what everyone imagines their living arse to have looked like. There'd be a plaque with a username beneath it and either a favourite phrase or the word "c*nt" with the number of times it had been used on NSC with "Palace" in the same sentence. There'd be an explosive gas canister inside each metal ass that would go off if the moonie was snatched, brownly dying the hands of the thief and leaving a ghastly odour over their sleeves and moustaches.

A lovely suggestion MB,and one I remember David Frost putting forward after the death of the 'peoples princess' it sums up so many thoughts by so many people so well on so many levels so there.
