Gus would be a good appointment in my book tho, he's a nice bloke having met him and seems very respected.

Certainly that's no worse or more outlandish than some of the other suggestions that have been on here. And I notice that in the Argus Taylor says he wouldn't mind working as a coach to the new Albion manager - indeed it's a role he'd prefer. (Or to put it in journalist speak: "Taylor issues 'come and get me' plea to new Albion boss")

Would Slade come back though? At least he'd know who his enemies were; any players who'd celebrated his departure could expect to find themselves out in the cold!

We won't get a better coach than Taylor, remember how hard we were to break down under him, exactly what this team is missing. I'd sign him up now and insist that the next manager has to work with him, it's not as though the list of potential managers that are likely to accept the job have that many aces up their sleeves to turn the job down because they have to work with who is in place. Hell we've been putting that proviso on new managers for 10 years now.

However bringing back Slade has to be a non starter.
