It's definitely a return to form...the more I listen the more I like it.

Saw them live in reading a few years back...

Listened to their last few albums and considered them to be one of those bands that the music press wet themselves over but aren't actually that good (see also Kings Of Leon). However I was pleasantly suprised by the sheer bloody loudness of "Icky Thump" and am now reconsidering my opinions.

The album by the Raconteurs (Jack Whites other band) is also pretty good.
