Just read on the BBC website that police are looking into a link with Tobin and the Bible John murders in Glasgow in the 60s. I first came across this name after reading one of Ian Rankin's novels.
So, macabre as it may seem - can I urge anyone who hasn't read any Ian Rankin that you really are missing out on something here.
Without doubt the best dysfunctional detective ever created in John Rebus. Ken Stott was made for the part. But - the books are so so well written and really get under the skin of Edinburgh life.
