Loved the fact his interview for the job was a 4 hour chat in a fish and chip shop. Seems very appropriate for Grimsby!

Ran against him in the Dad’s race in the 90s at our kids’ Bristol primary school when he was manager of Rovers.. Very competitive guy even in that.

On his next visit he got a punch in the guts by a Plymouth fan.
He said he understood, forgave him and apologised to the fans and said he made a big mistake.
