.....4 straight defeats becomes 7 or 8

The Axe fell on WOOD after just 6 straight defeats on HINSHELWOOD after 13 BOOKER bailed out after 3 in October 2003

If we don't win now until BOXING DAY thats 8 (incl Shrewsbury) lose to Colchester = emergency board meeting.

The axe fell on Hinshelwood after 11? The next two defeats were under Coppell.

Adams will not get fired, full stop. I still believe we'll turn it around though, but I am bracing myself for the oncoming abuse...

No chance unless he walks, still hope he gets it right though.
Did wonder what people's reaction would be if say on Monday Adams comes out and says 'I have made a mistake and its time to go before I spoil the fans view of me' or something like that.

Sorry to be pedantic folks...but Hinsh went after 12...4pts from 1st 2 games then 10 straight defeats. DK was asked ( after about 6 straight defeats if there was a number that was sackable..to which he replied..." if he loses 10 on the trot, then he will go " )
Coppell lost his first two 4-2 and 5-0 ( can't remember who that was against )
If this season turns out to be one of pure survival...then MA should go on that basis...the high level of underperforming would surely suggest that he is not the man to take the club forward.

No problem, I meant 11 as in 11 straight defeats. The 10 in the league like you say, plus 1 in the league cup.

:)

I think if we got relegated he still wouldn't get the sack.

I kind of agree with you, but it would come down to HOW we get relegated. If we go down on the last day then no, he wouldn't go, no chance. But if we're losing week after week, it's March time, and we're 8 points from safety then I think he'd HAVE to be on his way.
Yeah, maybe. If we went on a really long losing run of Hinshelwood proportions. The thing is that any relegation or even struggle has to be considered a spectacular failure. Even a bottom half finish would be bad.

There is a very real danger our memories of Micky will be tarnished by all of this.

I had hoped to remember him for what he did a few years back as opposed to what might happen now.

People keep citing Hinshelwood's poor run, but seem to forget we had a poor run under Mark McGhee, too.

Knight stubbornly (loyally) stood by Mark McGhee. He accepted us not being successful in the championship, using the excuse of financing.

Despite Dean Wilkins' success with the youthful team (that would likely only improve with his guidance and skill as youth trainer, and with Dean's own growth as a manager) Micky Adams and Dick Knight seem to believe it has to be completely rebuilt, and so they have a ready made excuse for this season's failure.

This excuse, I believe, will lead to Knight showing more of this stubbornness/loyalty, and barring a consecutive losing streak of 10 games or more, Knight will stick by Adams into next season. If we're struggling next October, then Knight will act.

I voted for the fourth option just for the hell of it!

Actually where's the fifth option, "until Dick Knight starts to get abuse". That's normally when he pulls the trigger.
