Seeing every lefty in sight are falling over each other to apologise I thought I would have a stab at it.

I am very sorry for Britains involvement in the slave trade, allthough it was 200 years ago I am sure if I was around back then I would be up to my neck in it(Err...scrub that last bit).

It was nothing personal and I am sure that I and most of my fellow countrymen would have been just as happy enslaving, Asian, Orientals, Red Indians and Eskimos. Its just that most of the trade was conveniantly located on the beach, a bit like a McDonalds Drive-through except the produce was more edible then.

So I'm very sorry and it probably wont happen again, no hard feelings eh?

So how was that?:)

Yes that was yesterday and is typical of blairs half baked, compromise type fudges.

We need to elect an actor or someone who can do a proper job, on their knees and wailing etc. Would get the ratings up at least.

I think David Cameron fits the bill for a commited posing faker, rather than the wishy washy posing faker weve got in number 10 at the moment.

From next Sunday's News of the World??

Italians in shock apology for Roman Invasion of Britain!

I think not!!

Why do they always pick on us when it comes to apologies. We have had our fair share of invasions and, as far as I am aware, nobody ever apologised for those.

Hove, f***ing ACTUALLY.
Cant we just move on.

I'm sure if OK magazine reported the Beckhams had a 13yr old Somalian slave boy every man and his dog would want one.

The whole thing is just a tad boring when there are more important issues like kids killing each other for a couple of quid.

All these apologies seem a bit lame when sexy Eastern European girls are being smuggled into the country for vice and the sex trade eh?

It's still going on people!

Precisely. Although I shouldn't I find myself getting irritated at the way this is being covered. It's a mixture of the usual self-flagellation over our imperial past ("Look how horrid we used to be!") coupled with a certain smugness over the fact that we were one of the first nations to 'abolish' slavery.

Only it hasn't been abolished. Slavery still exists and we still profit from it. I wish the anniversary of 1807 was being used to highlight just how much still has to be done as opposed to treating it as some sort of historical costume drama.

I'm gonna get me a couple of slaves. I have a small flagstone patio that needs turfing and I just cannot be arsed to do it myself. Going on to e-bay.

I'm not really an expert, but I can safely say, that turfing a patio will NOt work. The turfs will die in a matter of days.

You would be much better off getting your slaves to dig up the patio first, then lay a bit of top-soil, then the turfs.

Perhaps they could use the flagstones to construct some kind of makeshift shelter to live in, at the end of the garden?
