To see the improvement over the first half of this season against better quality opposition is very gratifying considering hardly anybody's been added to the squad. I for one thought we would struggle badly, but the spirit being engendered throughout the squad is really starting to show in the performances of late.
It makes all that travelling recently to Wolves, Spurs, and Sheffield worthwhile. Well done for what you've achieved with such limited resources. In my opinion it's the true sign of a good manager to get us competitive with little or no cash, compared to many others I could mention who make a hash of things with vast transfer funds.
Congratulations - next stop the play offs, (or maybe next season).
Thanks for everything you're doing for the club Mark, you've given us probably the greatest day in the clubs history at Cardiff in May and this season the yeam are performing brilliantly mainly due to your tactical ability. Please sign that contract!
Mark McGhee - fast on his way to becoming the best manager (of a bloody brilliant lot) of the past 6 years. A legend in the making.
Oh and if you could just sign this (I know it's been done before but just to be on the safe side):
I Mark McGhee hereby agree to stay at Brighton until we get into the Premiership, at LEAST.
If they gave out Manager of the Year awards now, the Championship version would HAVE to go to Mark McGhee - amazing achievement with so few resources. I think most of us are just about realising MM is an even better manager than Micky Adams - and MA is an absolute hero.
Mark, you've done a great job last season and this season. I'll never forget the day at Cardiff. Staying up this season will be a huge achievement and it is thanks to the work you've done.
