Calvin - magnificent targetman performance well worth a goal.
Jarrett - different class to the rest of our central midfielders. The KEY signing in my opinion.
Birchall - best player on the pitch. Why was he taken off?
Sebastian - first touch showed more class than any other cross we've put in this season. Fantastic assist and great to see him back.

Throw in Davies and hopefully a proper left-back (thus freeing up Livermore to take weak-link El Abd's place in midfield) and I firmly believe we will have in place 90% of a squad that can win promotion next season. Murray, Forster, Calvin, AND Davies is just an embarrassment of riches upfront.

It's been a long time but tonight, my friends, I am happy to announce that FLAIR is back at the albion:clap2:

Agree with everything you said, except that I think Sully was better than Birchall.

So add in Davies and a left back, what would you regard as our best team?

Hard to pick upfront, especially if Murray stays.

Finally, competition for places.

Jarret was superb, very strong on the ball and able to hold it.

Not sure why Birchall was sacrificed for Carole should have been Cox coming off.

You know what, I don't actually know. How can you possibly pick two from Murray, Forster, Davies and Calvin? I don't think you can drop Forster, Murray is class, Davies has to play as there is no point signing him otherwise, and Calvin was incredible today. How do you choose the wide players, because let's not forget the moment that won us the match was a brilliant run and cross from M.C Le Od. Who do you leave out at the back? If you put a gun to my head I'd pick the following team, but I wouldn't be happy about leaving out some of the players I'd have to:

Michel

Whing Virgo Hinshelwood New left-back

Birchall Jarrett Livermore Carole

Forster Murray

Kuipers back in? I really rate him but surely you couldn't leave Sully out after today.

Slow, predictable, and often left lagging behind Hartlepool attacks. If he's the defensive midfielder then I'd like to know why Hartlepool had so many quick breaks and skilful play around the edge of our box. Afterall, surely his job would be to stop that? All the good things El Abd did were in defence (which, funnily enough, is where he should be). I don't really blame him because he's out of position, but he's so uncomfortable in midfield it's embarrassing.

Anyway, not to worry, because once this new look albion gets up and running there won't be a place for him anyway.

What was slow and predictable about him getting involved and playing simple balls and breaking up their play? He did his job and did it well. They had a bit of play by our box but mainly out wide where Virgo got raped several times. El Abd won almost everything that came his way. He looks more and more like a midfielder every time he plays. Leave the man alone, he's doing a decent job.
