Tangible excitement at receiving the ticket collection email yesterday. It feels thoroughly decadent having been abroad for three such occasions in short order.

1am taxi to airport on Thursday. Flight from Riyadh to Istanbul SAW airport, leaving at 4am. 1 hour taxi across continents to Istanbul IST Airport! Flight to Athens arriving at midday! I'm going to be knackered just like the ajax game except no taxi ride between continents there!

Yeah, did it for ajax home and away as well. Bloody long trek but worth it in our first season in Europe. Unfortunately Brighton won't know when they reveal how many miles you've travelled at the end of the season to games!

A word of warning, based on my experiences this week with a certain booking agency I would strongly suggest to other NSCers NEVER use a travel company who shares its name with a native New Zealand bird. Absolute crooks.

Popped my head into the AEK store that's near Syntagma/Monastiraki. For anyone interested in one, they'll have half and half matchday scarves in from tomorrow.
