Home form = f***ing rubbish.

Atmosphere = non existent, other than the goons in h block singing about the away supporters.

Withdean crowd - SHIT.
Withdean results - SHIT.

Away support - GOOD.
Away results - OK!

Those goons are the only people who make an effort to get behind the team.

At any ground with a lid even the moaning comes through as noise.I was in E yesterday and didn't hear anything at all from H.In fact, all you can hear is the few rows round about.

I agree it is the home stadium that is the problem, and you've all learned from Andy that the away team has to quieten the home crowd.Withdean does that for them.So they come once, play and go.We play 23 league games in a morgue.

Falmer will sort it.

I counted 3 songs encouraging the team after the game kicked off yesterday, all the rest was absolute drivel about our "fake opposition" who "have no history" and "don't deserve to be there" (despite having paid for a ticket) as well as trying to get Slade's attention when he is trying to manage a team. GOONS.

Yes, it's good that they sing, but why do they consistently sing shit?

It's just so frustrating really because the atmosphere at Withdean always used to be GOOD and intimidating! The new seats really killed any hope of atmosphere. Can't see Falmer being much better with 10,000+ seats in every week.

If professional footballers can't play football because people aren't singing then they need to have a look at themselves. There are loads of grounds where there is no atmosphere from the home fans. This is just an EXCUSE thread.

Nah, i do think the atmosphere is part of the blame, most grounds are quiet but not many are silent.

The players need to take responsibility though, agreed. Stupid sendings off and shitty goals conceded from basic errors aren't the managers fault.

It didn't appear to be a problem for the first 7 seasons at Withdean.

It didn't appear to be a problem for the first 7 seasons at Withdean.

Everyone is bored of the Withdean now though, especially with the ending in sight. Next season the atmosphere might actually be ok because it's the last we'll have to play there and we will all be bloody glad about that.

I sort of echo M's sentiments, all the "AFC Wimbledon" chants and "fake club, fake fans" might have got some good banter going with the away lot, but it would be better, surely, to be singing songs of the players on the pitch?! Where were the "My cock is stiff for Tunnicliffe" chants?!

there is nothing stopping you coming along to H block and starting a supportive team chant.

i fear for the atmosphere at falmer to be honest,im pretty sure i saw a ask the club question asking which stand would the singing stand be!!! the amount of theres no atmosphere excuses are something we can not blame the manager and players for,its up to each and every individual to create a atmosphere, yes it helps if the team are playing well of course but if you want a atmosphere point the finger in your own direction 1st and see how your contributing to the problem.

Agreed. We cant continually blame the atmos at the Withdean but it is a factor. Plus some people are becoming used to it. At one point yesterday I shouted "C'mon!!!!!!!" so loudly that I feared my eyeballs would pop out. I got some right shady looks from the people around me, who were asleep at the time.

The difference is when we first came toWithdean teams came hoping for a win and trying for a point they now come expecting a win and are upset at only getting a point.

Loads of grounds are silent. You've kind of made my point for me: the crowd don't concede goals or get our players sent off. Their own stupidity/ineptitude does that. If the players gave the crowd something to shout about then we would shout, but they consistently fail to deliver anything so a bit of silence is the least they deserve.

Agreed.

No amount of community singing will cover the cracks in a squad that still has large amounts of non talent in it.

Soon they'll be upset if they don't get a win and shag the barmaid in the Sportsman.
