Apologies for the driveltastic nature of this thread, but it's an itch that won't go away.

Don't even start on variety packs, or should that be variety thimbles.

I don't know why this has got so far under my skin, but it's been gnawing away at me since Friday.

Sure we're in a recession.
The cost of living has gone up.
Wages are stagnant.
Blah blah blah.

But bloody Rice Krispies 'ONLY' £2.

I'm supposed to be freakin grateful you're only going to charge me 2 quid, for something that probably cost you 10p to produce.

Weetabix - loaded with sugar
Rice Krispies - loaded with sugar
Alpen (the one with sugar) - loaded with sugar
Corn Flakes - loaded with sugar
etc.

Shredded Wheat - the only 'mainstream' breakfast cereal outside of porridge with no added sugar (and bloody lovely it is too)

No idea why, but mention Shredded Wheat and this appears in my head.

I was in Tesco today and you could get 4 x 150ml Lynx BO Basher for the price of two. So, £6.38.

Or you could buy 3 x 200ml Lynx for a total of £6. Saving, 38p and less material wasted.

A boring observation, but a saving nonetheless.

They've been after salt and now they are going to go after sugar and rightly so. A ridiculous amount in food. People are so worried about fat content, they'll buy something loaded with sugar. Cutting down on sugar is the key to losing weight and fat is not so addictive.
