I have just bought an I pod on ebay which is manufactured refurbished but when I plug it into the Pc it doesnt show as being attached to it. Have been through the checks and it says that an I pod is recognised by Windows but not by I tunes how do I retify this.

It came froma dealer witha 99.8% positive rating. Has all the apple signs on it and when switched on it shows the apple trademark. Tried going on the apple website to ask for advice but it says enter serial no and to read that on the back of the casing is virtually impossible.

Have you tried holding down the centre and top part of the dials together to reset it? then try reconnecting and see if it finds it.

Brian...my daughter works for apple. If it still doesn't work, bring it along to a game and we can meet and I'll get her to check it for you back in the Workshop

Didn't seem worth starting a new thread about this...

A friend is struggling with the following dilemma...

Anyone advise how to get my iTunes music library on my new iPhone... Apparently I should have used the backup from iPod when initially connecting iPhone to iTunes but I didn't read instructions and I don't want to lose all the contacts that I have just added to iPhone so am now wondering if another way to do it without restoring and losing contacts... Help???!!!?? Please !!!!

Many thanks!

Had the same problem a few years back.Try deleting Itunes, having backed up your music files to disc, plug in Ipod, computer recognizes hard drive, unplug Ipod.Download Itunes again,Ipod ok when plugged in & will download your music when prompted.(I'm totally useless at IT but it worked for me-good luck!)
