No he was out before I could get at him.
He appealed for a catch when the ball hit the middle of my front pad, and then when the ball hit my foot, which was behind be at the time and it looped up and he leaped in the air appealing for all he was worth.
I said it hit my foot and he said "we are allowed to appeal, however tenuous"!
I just gave him a withering look and smashed the next ball out of the ground!
Only got 29 though

As I suspected. He knows the laws but has no concept whatsoever of the spirit of the game. One of my least favourite people in the world.
