What does it say in iTunes when you connect up your iPhone? Does it say on the iPhone page that an upgrade is available?

Have you jailbroken your iPhone? If so, you may not be able to get upgrades via the normal route (I gather Apple are trying to detect jailbroken phones to prevent the upgrades).

Note: I do not endorse jailbreaking your iPhone or rooting your Android phone or otherwise hacking your smart device.

3g only went so far on updates.
U'll probably have to restore and be careful what you put on there, but the app site shud only let u instal what's compatible tho.

I'd say it's update time it hang on for the 5 in autumn (4s is a bit shit).
That's also another stream on Android phones, however if u'v spent a lot if cash on iphone apps, u might as well stick with Apple, so get a cheap 4 it wait for the 5 is my advice

Out of interest has anyone ever used Shazam in anger?

By that I mean getting it to recognise a track and then go on and purchase it via their affiliate link?

I've only ever used it in the "have a look at this.....you've got to be quiet else it won't work......sssshhhhh......no it didn't work, be quiet this time.....about 20 seconds....ssshhhhhh....................eh eh eh look at that! Isn't that clever eh!"* guise.

(*repeat with various odd ball tracks trying to beat it until everyone gets bored)

its a 3g not a 3gs, thought it was my bad, also every app i use crashes at the moment, only happened past couple of weeks, worth a restore?

Ah... 3g, eh? I got rid of one of those early last year when it went "out of support". I wasn't happy that I could no longer upgrade it to the latest OS, when there were apps starting to come out that would ONLY run on the new OS. I got an Android phone instead - it has pros and cons compared to Apple, the main pro being the cost. I've also tried a Windows phone to see what I think, but it didn't take me long to go back to my Android phone. All in all, though, I feel that if I can afford the latest iPhone when my contract's up for renewal, it's probably worth the extra cost.

I've tried SoundHound on Android, and was impressed by it success - even on classical pieces, and from humming tunes. Never tried buying anything through it, though.
