I'm bored with my music.

I tend to like all the old punk and indie stuff although not exclusively. I'd now like to appreciate something from this century! Can people name a few classic LP's from the last few years I should go for?

The last 2 CD's I brought were The Stills ( ok, not great) and REM's greatest hits which is wonderful of course but hardly new.

Any suggestions?

Hove, f***ing ACTUALLY.
I've always been a bit of an Indie man.

Although not entirely new, The Beginning stages of The Polyphonic Spree is almost worn out on the car CD at the moment

If you like old punk then I recommend the following decent/recent punk albums:

Band - Album:

1208 - Turn Of The Screw
Pulley - Matters (out 6th April but already got it and amazing)
Strung Out - An American Paradox
Pennywise - From The Ashes
NOFX - War On Errorism

Or if you fancy something which is by a guy with Punk origins and blends it with reggae, ska, latin and just about everything else - try Manu Chao (or Manu Negra for his eary punk stuff).

I never thought I'd listen to music by a Frenchman til I heard this!

Polling North Standers
Alistair Griffin - Bring it on
David Sneddon - can't remember his album but check out his neat website www.davidsneddon.com (NOTE IS NOT OFFICE FRIENDLY...I won't make that mistake again)

or more seriously get the strokes albums as they are the bollocks. Plus the albums are cheap like the budgie

Don't think Manu Chao was in Manu Negra but similar styles of music. He would've been to young (but I might be wrong) and I thought he was Spanish (but I may be wrong) who cares

Manu Chao - Proximo Estacion Esperanza

Manu Chao's album 'Proximo Estacion Esperanza' is Spanish for 'Next Station Hope', which is pretty ironic after what's happened in Madrid!!!:(
