Don't go thinking were too big a club to end up in a survival to stay up scrap!. Just look at the way Newcastle Utd is Run!.

Fantastic support. Problems with the managerial side. and sell the players that can win you matches!.
Sound Familiar.

But I'm trying to stay positive.. Although I don't understand CMS view of the team losing a head of steam going into the international break!.
We were very ropey, And only got results against the teams who are still below us!.

Blackpool are the weakest team we will come up against so far!. Anything other then a win should really put some pressure on Sami.
we need to start to showing some progress. Because right now, I don't see any!.

Many people on here have been clamouring for a more entertaining style of football. Often claiming they would rather see us lose 3-2 than draw 0-0.
Last night's starting line up and performance showed the intent is there. But for a couple of great saves, we could easily have been 2-0 up at half time.

Gus would have set up for a 0-0 last night and might possibly have got it.. but if we had conceded there would have been no chance of us winning.
This team is in transition from the hard to beat teams of Gus and Oscar, to a team capable of winning games from 1 -0 down.

We are 7 games into the season, 5 games with the new squad available. I doubt Sami even knows what the best starting 11 is yet. I'm sure he will get the team playing better and better as each game goes by.

I won't begin to entertain the possibility of a relegation scrap this season. If we don't make the playoffs this year, then no big deal. We'll get our shot at the Premier League sooner or later.

We cannot expect to win many games if we concede two goals a game. Both full back positions look exposed and the screen on the back four from DM is also lacking. As others have said if we want to play this way we need a mobile aggressive ball winner able to break up counter attacks or at the very least delay them until we can regain our shape. Without one we will continue to ship goals and lose matches...

It's a poor start and a worry that we are both conceding too many goals, and despite creating many chances in every game we've played so far, not finding the back of the net enough.

HOWEVER, tighten up, and start taking our chances - then we are at times looking a very good team. If we weren't creating anything or competing in games then I might turn to panic, but right now at least there are enough positives to keep the dial just on 'worried' for now.

We've not started as well as we'd like, but I wouldn't say i'm worried...slightly concerned at best. I'm not 100% confident that playing high full backs works for us, but i'm willing to give it a chance as it does make us a more potent attacking threat. I guess it's just two years of us having one of the best defensive records in the league is hard to get used to now we're conceding many more.

We won't go down. We probably won't go up either.

We have good options in midfield but problems lie at both ends: we can't score and are conceding a lot of goals.
I don't think we should be that surprised as the defence is clearly weaker than last season. We badly miss Upson and Bennett is not as good as Ward. I think we need a new right-back. Lua Lua is a winger. Baffled that coaching team can't see or recognise this.
Not sure Hyypia knows his best team, rotating won't help him with that.
I've never been a fan of rotation. Pick your best players and go with them.
Blackpool quite a big game now.
