I'm not complaining about Vicente, it's just whenever we play him the team stops acting as a team, all they try to do is get it to Vicente and I feel this method of thinking is costing us games, hence why we play better if he actually isn't in the team. He is a fantastic player, don't get me wrong but he should not be in the championship. He needs to be with players more his level. It's like when you used to play football at school and just hoofed it to the best player on the pitch to see what they can do with it.

Used to be the same with Bobby Zamora. Players like Chippy would totally panic and seek out BZ with a panicked hoof in the fervent hope that he'd weave some kind of magic. Which did work more often than not. Maybe if CMS stopped running around like a maniac so much and the players knew where to find him, then that would work wonders. Until then, they seek out Vicente.

back to Spain, or another team. As soon as he comes on we seem to adopt a mentality that has everyone launching the ball at Vicente, he needs to be dropped for the final 2 games. He is good, but the players are not working properly as a team when he is on the pitch.

Deary me.

Go to bed: & stay there until you've found a way of being something other than the on-line equivalent of a shrivelled winnet.

So nobody agrees that having Vicente on the pitch is messing up the team dynamic? Hmm.

did you not watch the fisrt half, with the 10 blue and white players looking like strangers. after a brighter start second half, we came alive with his presence.

He is just head and shoulders the best player in the league, the problem is that the rest cannot read some of his sublime passes, hopefully that will come with training now he does it.

It's true that we rely on him too much. when we were top we didn't play him. This does need to be sorted.

I would love him to stat for dead ball delivery alone but over reliant on him for sure.

How about reliyng on our strikers to score occasonaly

No, they don't. Because it's a retarded thought.

While the thread title is clearly crazy, I kind of see the point. Vicente is obviously a quality player, but I think we overuse him. It seems to me like all the other players are under orders to give him the ball at every opportunity, and he rarely passes. It just makes us a bit one dimension. I appreciate just how amazing he is, but it seems to me like our style and pattern disappear when he is on the pitch and we revert to simply hoping he comes up with something special. To be fair, he usually does, but I just think we might be better off sticking to our plan and seeing him as a bonus rather than our only hope.

f***ing hell, what a surprise that you pipe up. After all, what would you do if we didn't win?

The game changed when Vicente came on, for the better. That is a fact.

Poyet, right or wrong used this game as an experiment. We saw that Gonzalez, Painter and Dicker(at least) are not premiership.

Well played Poyet, he knows what he needs to do in the summer, with luck he has blooms financial backing.

Well given that we were a shambles in the first half tonight & completely rudder-less; and then when Vicente appeared the team were suddenly buzzing & looking like we/they might score a goal or 3: I reckon you need to spend the Summer looking to understand the meaning of term 'dynamic'.

I see your point. Take tonight's game. He didn't play in the first half and we played more as a team. When one player kept losing the ball so did all the others. But when he came on it was totally different. Granted we had got one goal back before he came on but he set up the equaliser and without it we would only be on 63 pts now.

His pass across the box to Buckleys feet for our second goal tonight was for me the best assist I've seen this season home & away. I didn't think it was possible from the position he was in. I'm certain the Watford defender in front of him was rather surprised to say the least.
It is correct some of his passes are so fast & quick thinking and clever that the rest just cannot read them. There were one or two tonight that got away towards the end of the second half.
