Millwall do have a lot to play for. If they win, then they will play Tranmere or Scunthorpe - the weakest of the other three paly-off teams. This would also guarantee a home second leg and avoid Leeds. Millwall versus Leeds in a two-leg play-off semi-final???!!! Think about it.

Anyone who was at the Bristol Rovers and Huddersfield Town games would have seen our players die for the cause - they are not going to let it go now.

Dandyman

In London village.
The players and management need to go into the match believing that all the other sides under threat WILL win.

We need to forget the others and just concentrate on winning our game.

What he said. If we win, it does not matter what anyone else does. We can then all have a disco on the pitch while smirking at the stewards.

......Millwall have nothing to play for.....

How do you come to that conclusion? Millwall know that a win will guarantee home advantage in the second leg of the playoffs - either in 3rd or 4th spot depending on the MK results. This could be crucial and it gives them everything to play for.

Only the crossbar and two brilliant saves by FDM saved us at times during this game. We had to fight very hard for that point. A draw gives us two chances - a win or a draw in the last game - had we lost, then only a win would have done next Saturday.

errr, what a load of BOLLOX>

if we had lost, we'd be 1 point behind Carlise now. Meaning if we lose and they DRAW, we'd go down. Where as now if we lose and they draw we stay up.

the point we GAINED on saturday now means carlise have to win to have any chance of staying up.

tsk
You need to have another look at the table. If we'd lost, we'd be a point ahead of Carlisle instead of the two points (but with worse GD) than we are now.

US is right, but it's very easy in hindsight. Reading his post, you'd think all the players were armed with a pocket calculator and radio on the pitch, and someone had twigged with ten mins to go that there was more to gain than to be lost by going all out for the win and yet they still didn't bother.

Not really.

As it stands, a draw is only good enough if Carlisle fail to win or Norhampton lose both remaining games or Hartlepool lose by 6.

If we'd lost on Saturday, a draw would only be good enough if Carlisle fail to win. Northampton & Hartlepool would not have been relevant to us at all.

But if we'd won on Saturday, we'd already be safe by now.

I'm nervous about this result. Would be ironic if Gannon team helped relegate us. Still thats the type of script football plays out to time and time again.

We have been cack at home. the players will be nervous so its more important than ever that fans support them loudly from the first minute. No booing of miss placed passes or if we go down to an early goal. With our support the team will hopefully do their bit

2-0 up at half time will certainly ease the nerves. On the plus side two important players are banned for carlisle on sat.

They knew all the half time scores when Carlisle and Northampton were winning and Forster stormed into the changing rooms telling them they had to WIN.

The lottery is a play off, all 4 sides have equal chance and it doesn't matter a stuff who is at home first.

erm, i've looked at the table and im still right.

IF we had lost on sat then all carlise would need is a draw (if we loose) and we'd go down.

as we drew and got an extra point we're now 2 points ahead of them, meaning if they draw and we loose, THEY go down.

I think there is a very real possibility we will go down.

I think Carlisle will beat Millwall. Millwall have nothing to play for. I think Crewe are gone and its between us and Carlisle. On this assumption we have to beat Stockport and as we have been SHITHOUSE for 80% of the home games this season a defeat would hardly be a suprise.

We should have gone all out to win in the last 10 mins at Huddersfield and 1 point or 0 points meant the same. This could turn out to be the players biggest mistake.

I would rate our chance of staying up at 50/50.

Do you ever post anything positive these days. How can it turn out to be the player's biggest mistake when we were on top after our second equaliser. It sounds like you are suggesting we put 11 men behind the ball and just aimed to hold out for a draw, which is not true. But why let the truth get in the way of your moaning?

I'd be far more worried if Uncle S was tipping us to beat the drop.
Can't you see he's doing us a FAVOUR, bless him
