That Carlisle will turn Millwall over on Saturday leaving us needing a win?

This week, waiting for Saturday is going to be torturous!

I have a similar feeling in the pit of my stomach. Very anxious. Form says it should be a doddle, experience says that it won't be.

I think most would agree with that. A couple of early goals would go down very nicely!

It's going to go one of two ways.

Either:
a) we're going to score twice in the first 20 minutes, find Carlisle are a goal down at half time - and we will have no anxiety for the rest of the game.
Or:
b) Carlisle will score early on, and hold on to victory - maybe even running out easy winners. Meanwhile we will still be scoreless going into the last 20 minutes, the fans and players will be a a bag of nerves for the entire game and our league 1 survival will be a complete lottery.

I think Carlisle may win, so we can draw and stay up because Northampton will hopefully lose to MK Dons and Leeds

I reckon we will lose but stay up

It would have been great if Carlisle Millwall was an early kick off. We would KnoW what was needed before we kicked a ball.

Where is this enthusiasm for a Carlisle win coming from, ? they have not won it the last 11 games, think positive. Mind you this is football we are talking about:annoyed:

A month ago you would have only dreamed that we would be in the this position of having it in our own hands (oh err misses).

Millwall will going all out for the win so they can finish top of the play off places thus playing supposedly the weaker team in the playoffs, coupled with the fact they will want to avoid Leeds for obvious reasons

i predict the game will be a draw.

i had a nighmare last night for the first time in months... carlise won 2-1 and we lost 2-1.

it was f***ing horrible and hopefully not a preminition.....but as mentioned above i'd have given anything a month ago to still have it in our own hands come last day.

The players and management need to go into the match believing that all the other sides under threat WILL win.

We need to forget the others and just concentrate on winning our game.

We really could do with MK winning tomorrow, i think they will then leap frog Millwall and then Millwall will need to win their last game to have any hope of finishing 3rd.

I disagree. If Millwall go into the last day knowing a win will keep them in 3rd, they'll win. If they're 4th & then on Saturday they find out MK Dons are winning 2-0 at half-time, they won't try in the second half.

If anyone's interested in a consolation bet, Brighton are apparently 4-1 to go down with Betfair, or a Brighton win / Carlisle defeat double is 8/1.

Might be worth LUMPING on, if only to cover the drowning sorrows session afterwards.

I think there is a very real possibility we will go down.

I think Carlisle will beat Millwall. Millwall have nothing to play for. I think Crewe are gone and its between us and Carlisle. On this assumption we have to beat Stockport and as we have been SHITHOUSE for 80% of the home games this season a defeat would hardly be a suprise.

We should have gone all out to win in the last 10 mins at Huddersfield and 1 point or 0 points meant the same. This could turn out to be the players biggest mistake.

I would rate our chance of staying up at 50/50.

For the first time this season the outcome is in our hands, the manager and team have almost done a Houdini they will not fall at the final hurdle I am confident of that, would be a bit easier with Harty in the team lets hope he can make at least one half.

errr, what a load of BOLLOX>

if we had lost, we'd be 1 point behind Carlise now. Meaning if we lose and they DRAW, we'd go down. Where as now if we lose and they draw we stay up.

the point we GAINED on saturday now means carlise have to win to have any chance of staying up.

tsk

I would say it's highly likely that we will be in the bottom 4 at some time on Saturday. I would bet on Carlisle to score first and, with us and Northampton drawing we'd be down there. But I also think that Millwall will fight back and at least equalise. I think we'll take the lead in the second half and keep in front from there. Once the word gets around that we're OK I expect Carlisle to crumble.

Half time may be a bit like the Hereford game in 97 though.
