I don't think I like football.

Great game last night, I really enjoyed it, then back home to plenty of NSC posting.

Scroll forward 12 hours, and I'm trying to watch Utd v Arsenal, and it's just not holding my attention.

As an avid listener to The Tuesday Club and The Football Ramble, I should be well up for this.
It actually seems like a pretty good game, but nothing.

I've even found myself reading some deluded old tosh from the half witted fuc*ards, on the Holloway thread, instead of watching.

My only take away from the game is Santos is shockingly bad.

I barely watch man utd games these days, especially if them winning is practically a foregone conclusion as it was for this game. I've left the tv on ssn instead.

I know where you're coming from. Getting very disillusioned with the Premiership, especially the top 5 or 6 Clubs. Too many champagne charlies like Ashley Cole (used to be a good player) who are not good role models constantly looking to cheat / con their way through a game and in their private lives too. Once upon a time it was one or maybe two players at certain clubs but now it seems to be Clubs themselves (Chelsea come to mind) who have lost touch with reality and are prepared to defend the indefensible. Plus the top Prem clubs are not exactly setting Europe alight this season.

Ok the last few days have served up some bizarre games and results but also far too much poor footie and the wrong headlines. Even the fans dont seem to make the effort - Old Trafford was pretty quiet today. Yet the fans pay a fortune to watch their teams.

At the moment I have more time for watching teams like Everton, Swansea and Fulham who seem to exist mainly for the right footballing reasons. I quite look forward to seeing their games.

And Arsenal had, I believe, only two British players in their starting XI. At least United had six. If I wanted to watch a bunch of Johnny Foreigners playing football I'd go over to France.

Sadly the Albion is in danger of going the same way.

As much as I do berate the EPL, this I feel is more about 'other' football.

The thing with OUR Johnny Foreigners is precisely that they are MINE, Brighton is mine, I tick every cliche box, bleed blue and white blah blah blah.
I just think I'm kidding myself when it comes to actually watching other teams, including England (sadly) play.

I did turn the wireless on just after 3.
It was 5 live, I listening more intently to that than I had been watching for the previous 2 hours.

Rarely watch any live game on the TV these days, just watched Juniors wreckless Worthing Utd get smashed 7-3 by East Grinstead and cost me £6 as well !

Agree. I would like us to win the Championship but not go up. Seriously. Then have another go at winning it and so on. Much more fun than being hammered in every premiership game as well as the inevitable gulf that develops between fan and club ( until the club overspends, goes bust and then needs the true fans again....)

In fairness though I was also cursing myself too.

I got it into my head that all I'm doing is sitting here reading NSC, a cycling forum, and watching football.
With absolutely no imaginational capacity to use what I have at my fingertips for anything construction.

If I was Jason Broderick I could have at least started WWIII by hacking into the WOPR computer, through a backdoor pass, and challenged it to a game of Global Thermonuclear War.
But no, I am only capable of reading some illiterate 'gloating' from Palace fans, all of whom will be saying 'well if Dougie hadn't have left we wouldn't have got relegated', in 6 months time.

Anyway I'm going to watch the Rich Hall thing, in a bit, which is probably what I should have done ages ago.
