I've been an avid viewer of NSC for a while but it's taken this to bring me out of the darkness and to seek forgiveness for a terrible sin - a sin which I fear has jinxed my beloved Seagulls.

I have seen it, bought in it no less - yes I confess I have been to the Goldstone retail park after more than six years of pretending the old place was still there and risking life and limb by not looking if I had to drive past.

It wasn't just my fault though - it's Toys R Us. My wife has been pestering to go to this toy mecca for ages for the sake of our new baby son and after months of resisting I was finally left with no alternative but to go (my fellow husbands out there will understand, surely). I did what I thought was the proper thing and insisted we all wear Albion shirts which we did (little-un in his Albion romper) and drove to what was once my home from home on the morning of the Bournemouth game - the start of our current demise.

Since then we've not won (apart from an LDV silver salvo by McPhee) and I have become more and more guilty about the curse I have seemingly cast on the boys.

I have tried all combinations of my trusty lucky socks and pants but nothing seems to help.

I seek forgiveness. There must be other sinners out there...or am I all alone...help!!

:(

This reminds me of a series we ran in Scars & Stripes called "Kerry Mayo's Confessions", named after the Radio 1 slot "Simon Mayo's Confessions" (do you see what we did there?)

Anyone else want to come clean about anything Albion related they've kept to themselves?

I've avoided Focus DIY and bought my DIY odds and sods at Homebase for years. Yesterday my brother told me that Focus DIY bought Homebase a couple of years ago.

Surely this can't be true, someone tell me it can't be true...

We haven't had baileys before a game for ages and we keep losing.

Last time we had it was at Bournemouth and not everyone had it.

I blame Tinx.

We must drink baileys on Saturday.

I bought nothing but my wife bought various toys and stuff for the little'n. He's only 9 months but already true to the blue & white. Fully paid up Junior Seagull and loves to watch footy even though he's hardly old enough to no what offside is. Funnily enough he did start crying while we were there. At least I'm sure not all the tears were mine as I insisted on pointing out where each goal, stand and subs bench would and should have been between the aisles of Barbies and Power Rangers.

I just thought wearing the stripes would have shielded us from any mystical backlash:(

I've just been on the Focus DIY site (very quickly), and they own Wickes, but no mention of Homebase. I think that my brother may have been mistaken.

Phew.

Last year my mother in law ordered a climbing frame for my 2 year old sons birthday from Toy's R Us. When I found out I cancelled the order and got a refund. (we found the climbing frame cheaper on the net anyway). ALL our friends/relatives have been told that toys from Toys R Us are banned from the house. Was in the dog house with the in-laws for a while (Nothing New!) but it was worth it.
