One thing about sheff wed fans they always seemed a bit larger than most?
My mate went to that Oldham game.He said there was some trouble and it was snowing. That's all i remember of that.
I have a very hazy memory of this one too, can't remember all that much apart from the fact that we were utterly outclassed but I think we knew it and thus took it quite well. Would Danny Wilson have been playing for Wednesday at that point or am I imagining it?
My 1st trip to hillsborough was (I think) 75/76 and it was a 3-3 draw with neil Martin scoring 2 for us. I think it was the opening game of the season and Albion played in green.
It was a treat to go to a 'big club' and I stood on the open Kop. Wednesday had a big electronic scoreboard, an unusual site for div 3 back then, and some of the biggest cheers were for the updates as Blades lost 5-1 at Man Utd.
All my other trips to Hillsborough were rather dull.
Three games stand out for me. The 1st in 1976ish, an end of season evening game at the Goldstone. The crowd must have been around 30,000. We needed to win to get promotion to the second division. Eric Potts scored for Wednesday but we went on to win reasonably comfortably and get promoted.
The STEVE FOSTER testimonial.
We lost 7-1 and were truly dreadful.

Hate to be picky but had you gone up in 90/91 you would have been promoted to Division 1. 91/92 season was the last Div 1 season. Premiership started in 92/93.

I thiink you might mean Birmingham, the Zulu thing.
I actually went to the Sheff Wed v Oldham game that season as I was a student in Nottingham. That was 90/91 mate.
We finished 3rd in Div 2 behind West Ham and Oldham.
Anyhoo, thanks to all who have offered to answer questions, got a fair few replies.

35,000 in the ground, Leppings Lane still tarpaulined over.
Finished 2-2, and we couldn't get on your Kop because it was full so we were in the main stand.
Some fit yummy mummy in front of us kept jumping up every time Wednesday went forward and the bloke behind us shouted "SIT DOWN OR I'LL LICK YOUR CLIT". She sat down.
