I am WEASEL!!

If you've never seen the Cartoon Network cartoon with IM Weasel and IR Baboon then you won't know what I mean. But it means that I have done something good or clever.

In this case, I've managed to get my company to put me up in the Preston Park Hotel on Thursday night. All above board because I'm working in Hove on Thursday and Chichester on Friday so company rules allow for a hotel and it's cheap by our standards but it will be nice to be a 10 minute walk from the ground and not have to worry about getting home past midnight if it goes to penalties and having to get up early on Friday.

So, I Am WEASEL!! :clap2: :clap2:

That plan is so cunning, you could put a tail on it and call it a weasel. Impressive forsight, good forward planning, and dare I say, ballsey.

Well played sir.

All back to TGC's room for minatures and kit kats!!

No mini bar at £60 a night! Just as well as I'm on a diet!

On this subject, I once stayed in the Jolly's (Stop sniggering!) Hotel in Central London. I looked at the price list for the mini bar and they had a normal 28g bag of Walkers Ready Salted Crisps.

And the price?

£1.80. 6 times the cost in Tesco. They must get lots of stupid foreigners in London.

Thank you kind sir. I'll add this to my collection - Norwich away in the FA Cup, Ipswich away in the League Cup and Rushden away this season. All within 5 miles of one of my offices and all fully legit.

Unfortunately, a reshuffle after some layoffs means my region has changed and no longer covers anywhere north of the Thames. So my "scheduling around away games" scenario may be coming to an end. :nono: Unless we can start playing Chichester, Sevenoaks and Winchester a lot. :lolol:

You can hear them now "£1.80 of your Mickey Mouse money... how much is that in USD ?"

The in room TV had lots of strange European channels (No Sat 1 or Pro 7 for all you old analogue satellite effieciando's ;) ) and I think the Jolly's is Italian owned so I can't even blame it on stupid Yanks.

I know someone who made the stupid beginners mistake of phoning a mobile from the phone in his room. Can't remember how long he said the call was but imagine his shock when the bill for 1 phone call came to £80.

Staying away 40 nights a year teaches you the value of supermarkets - a couple of bottles of beer, some ready cooked chicken and a bag of mini poppadoms for less than the price of a pint of Coke and a bowl of soup in the hotel.
