Rocket scientist man - we salute you!

Bit of clevor trevor thinking bringing on that automatic one-match ban by zapping Ben Thatcher - then spelling out the masterplan in crayon in The Daily Telegraph.

And there's us thinking he woz a bit thick :dunce:

he isnt getting in trouble with fifa though! i think he was being called uncaptain-like by so many people that he felt he had to say why he did it. you never know it might have been taken out of context

Honestly, David Beckham is still our best player when he has a clear head.

The irony being, that the press constantly harp on about his problems, and then it generates them. They're not reporting the facts, they're propogating them.

He's been pretty amazing in La Liga this year - I've seen 4 of the 6 Real Madrid games so far and he's still faster, fitter, and more accurate than any other galactico.

He should be charged with bringing the game into disrepute.

I like him as a player BUT he has admitted he purposefully fouled an oposing player and this is not on.

What is Thatched had been seriously in injured, or Beckham sent off, would he be admitting it to it then?

If he was going to do this then he should have just kicked the ball away after the whistle had blown and then not told the national press.

You're having a laugh aren't you??! Players are purposefully fouled all the time, it's always been part of the game. Also there is no way Thatcher is going to be injured by the shoulder barge that Beckham put in on him, if he had gone in with a 2 footed challenge then that is a different matter

You are right in that it was a mistake to tell the press but apart from that he did nothing wrong. It's just another excuse for the Beckham haters to get on their high horses.

bringing the game into disrepute

When is a foul not a deliberate act - that is what a foul is by definition. How can he then be brought to task for deliberately fouling an opponent? It makes no sense, his punishment is quite rightly a yellow card.
