Hypothetical Situation re. Dunk

Say we got 2-3 m for Dunk this week or next week and that allowed us to strengthen other areas (a buddy for CMS and a full-back), what would you do?

We would have Abd and Greer as our centre back pairing with Hall as back up and potentially Calderon and Vincelot with a bit of jigging round .

Fair point, it would be assuming wages were within our structure (admittedly that might rule Maynard/Sharp out!)

I would gladly take £3million for Dunk and use £2million to get a striker and £1million on a midfielder.

Don't see it happening though.

Not wishing to criticise, but Maynard would almost certainly cost a lot more in wages than Dunk - so you are making the assumption that there would be some extra money in the budget for wages. Wolves have already supposedly put in a £3 million bid.

I would love Maynard to come here, although I'm fairly confident he'll be off to the Premier League.

[edit] Beaten to it.

I said like Maynard, and possible should have suggested Sharp who reportedly has a 3m buyout clause. And yes, wages will always be an issue admittedly.

maynard ,we cant afford his wages!!,i think some on here are in la la land ,our wage structure will not be broken in the 1st season of the championship, and as gus has to keep repeating ,
most players he wants are on a lot more than the 9000 a week our top earner is on.

Seems a lot of fans are quite happy to see Dunk go! and that there is a production line of equal replacements just waiting. I think it would benefit him to wait another season before joining a top club and his value could double in a year, which would suit us just fine. He really is highly rated and I hope the club don't accept the first bid that comes along.

Get a GK ...now my first priority after seeing what JFC is capable of and I wouldn't sign another man up top without giving Hoskins a run plus we have Barnes who I know gets his fair share of critics but he's played out of position most of time given ineffective MF. Then a FB

You know this is probably the right answer or maybe just keep LD and see if we can get another prem goalie on loan.

I think is a respectable answer. We have never replaced Kishishev and whilst JFC is not the finished article it looked for the first time this season like we had replaced Kishishev. This would really help our wingers and guys up top to perform.

Keep Dunk, offer him a new contract worthy of his value and make sure we finish mid table this season and then buy perhaps 4 or 5 decent players ready for next season to launch a serious challenge for promotion, I am sure Dunky would like to stay where he is comfortable if he knew we were serious contenders in the very near future.

I think that if we are to sell Dunk for any substantial amount it will have to be now as I think that he will spend the most of the remaining part of the season as understudy to Greer and El Abd and told tyo watch them play and learn from them, other than Greers red cards obviously.

i hope we dont sell anybody, we need all the players at the moment, i think Gus has a budget to get the players he feels we need. Bloom is not silly

May just be me but I don't feel I trust that Nicky Maynard and wouldn't want him here. Always seems to be messing Bristol City about keeping them guessing. Doesn't appear to be a team player and rates himself too highly. Can imagine him playing hard-to-get with clubs chasing him. Of course I have absolutely no proof of any of this. I just get that feeling.
