Huddersfield (R) 2-0 Brighton

"We weren't at the levels we needed to be at to get a result".

"We're just happy to be playing at this level against this sort of opposition".

"We couldn't possibly expect to come here, play football and get a positive result out of the game".

"We did not play at the level we needed to play but you give them a leg up when you concede the goals we conceded," Hughton said.

"That allows a good Huddersfield team playing at home to get in a rhythm and that makes the afternoon a very, very tough one.

"We were better in the second half and showed more of a threat but they could do it with the security of knowing they had a two-goal lead."

"Every now and again you get a real bad one, and that was a real bad one.

"We were nowhere near the levels you need to play any game in this division, never mind one as good as Huddersfield, and on their own ground too.

1 - 1 after going 1 goal ahead within the first 20mins, you know the drill.
I will check the result in the morning.

Expecting another thrilling 90 minutes of classic modern progressive football (aka defence against attack). Expect attack to win 2-1, unfortunately for us.

If, if we play with a desire to attack, if we let our wingers play as wingers instead of additional full backs, if we play with a pacey striker such as Andone or Locadia or perhaps even both and give their defence something to worry about instead of letting them have possession and time to pick a pass then we can win this.

We wont do any of the above, comfortable 2-0 to them.

I fear the worst.
1) Drums and Clackers just do for us every time. ( Cardiff, Leics and now Hudds )
2) Steve Mounie. Can't score against anyone else. Couldn't score in a brothel. Until we rock into town. 3 goals v us last season. Thus far, 12 games, 21 efforts, no goals. You just know it!
3) Recent history. Wagner has worked us out.

" This is a difficult place to come and they are a good side. We knew what to expect and prepared thoroughly in the week. We made life difficult for ourselves in the first half but I thought we adjusted well after the break and looked more like our normal selves. We can take that second half display into Tuesday and approach that game with confidence. Its never nice to lose heavily but this squad of players won't let their heads drop and they will be ready for Palace. "

5-1 defeat. ( Mounie x 3 ...Pritchard ....Dunk o.g )
