Congratulations to Huddersfield Town who this afternoon set a new Football League record. The Terriers won 2-1 against Notts County at the Galpharm Stadium to stretch their unbeaten record to 43 league games and beat a record set by Brian Clough's Nottingham Forest back in 1978. Lee Clark's men are so far unbeaten in 2011 league competition. Since losing 4-1 at Southampton on 28th December 2010 Huddersfield have won 25 games and drawn 18, scoring 82 goals and conceding 37. Greg Clarke, Chairman of The Football League, led the congratulations: "I would like to extend my congratulations to everyone at Huddersfield Town on reaching today's historic landmark. To have gone 43 consecutive league matches without defeat is a fantastic achievement by the club. Particularly when you take into account the many, many outstanding teams that have played in The Football League during its 123-year history. "Huge credit must go to Manager Lee Clark and his players for sustaining the level of performance needed to break Nottingham Forest's long-standing record."
