You say that as if there is some sort of contradiction there. 'Lucky win' = we didn't play well, tactical choices were wrong, fortune was the reason we won; 'get beat we are shite' = didn't play well because the tactics were wrong.

It's actually entirely consistent.

Who says the tactical choices were "wrong" in those 3 1-0 wins? The tactics may have been exactly to Chris Hughton's plan. We won, ergo the tactics were right... for him, but clearly not for you, who can clearly see things better than our manager.

It's strange too how things change, it doesn't seem a year ago that Dyche and Wagner were being lauded for their managerial success and look at their teams this season. Hughton clearly has tactics that don't appeal to all, however that doesn't make them wrong!

But that's a different argument. It's not about whether Hughton was right or wrong. It's about your suggestion that there is something inconsistent about people criticising us for being 'lucky' when we won, and now that we're not winning criticising the way we play. It's an entirely consistent argument. They were always criticising the way we played.

This. It seems many fans can’t differentiate between wanting better performances even when winning. Wait for the “**** off and follow Chelsea then” brigade (auto reply: “had that chance in 80s but we were better than them and besides grew rather fond of the Albion as a STH at Gillingham when less than 1000 of us...”

Both Wagner and Hodgson will be telling their players that we are weak and they can beat us if they apply themselves, rather than the usual CH public remarks that for each game that they are a good team and it will be a difficult game. Big us up and let the opponents worry about us for a change.

Huddersfield will play with too much energy and momentum for us to cope with. Can't defend 90 mins against that. Morale will be rock bottom by the time we place Palace so could go either way.

Best form of defence is attack so we will play 2 up top against Huddersfield and go for it
But in reality we will hang on for a point up there

......and not get the point. Quite depressing really (and yes I used to go to Gillingham and Withdean).

Zilcho points unless are gormless bunch work out which end they are meant to kick the ball. Just expect CH to put out a defensive team with ultra defensive tactics to boot. Mike Bailey got slated for exactly the same back when I was a teenager.

And lost his job due to supporter unrest but not suggesting that will or should happen to CH but as time goes on it could become an issue if we do not improve and avoid relegation.

So he was sacked, and we got Melia, got relegated, and spent 34 years outside the top division.

That went well.

Watching Huddersfield today I think we will struggle unless we change our formation next Saturday

Huddersfield attacked Wolves from the off because they knew that if you let Wolves have all the possession they would hurt them. Unfortunately CH does not trust his players to be good enough to attack and defend. We defend from the off and hopefully nick a goal from a rare attack. He will not change, so expect the same at Huddersfield who will be flying and full of confidence. Against the so called weaker teams most teams attack the opposition especially at home CH tactics are the same home and away. He respects all opposition as shown in all his interviews which are becoming repetitive. Unfortunately, he thinks all teams are as good as one another and treats them all like world beaters. This was shown against Leicester when we should have gone on the attack and killed them off. I appreciate the view that we are where we are with his tactics but it does not hide the fact that the last two games we could have killed the game off if we had attacked the sides. It felt like we were playing for the draw against Leicester even though we were winning. Huddersfield will be looking forward to playing us as we won't cause them many problems attacking wise.
