When young Ladies look at you as "cute & kind" rather than a threat :ffsparr:

When you spend more time at St Richard's Hospital than you do clubbing!

When you look for reasons to leave a good party rather than to stay!

When you find "comfortable" shoes!

When all trips are planned with military precision based around toilet availability.

You actually appreciate the yearly National Trust memberships the kids got you and the wife last Christmas.

When you remember Fred Binney throwing a strop because a raw young striker called Peter Ward had taken his place in the team.

When you spend weeks planning your autumn sloe picking for the Christmas gin.

... and you feel you're soooo hip because you smoked your sloes before putting in the gin!

Gigs!! Those were the days

I also remember turning up on the evening of the gig and being able to buy tickets on the door rather than having to book and pay eight months in advance.

Now that makes me REALLY old

...Or sending a cheque (or postal order) and SAE.

You can still do that. I've done it a few times in the past couple of years

I am willing to bet that was for obscure and not massively popular acts? Dare I say old codger music?

When I started my mortgage I thought I was old at 28
Now I'm about to pay off my mortgage at 59 and I don't feel [mentally] a day older than when I started.
But physically, I'm on the doorstep of the scrapheap.

Where DID all those years go ?
