Yes I know St George is meant to be a Turk, but sod it have a day to celebrate being English. I intend to fly my flag and wear a red rose with pride. My Sunday lunchtime pint will be Fullers London Pride followed by the finest English dinner, roast beef and yorkshire pud. What do you other proud Englishmen do?

Nothing. I speak English, I sound English. This is all because I was born in England and have lived in England all my life. I just happen to be here and be English, why do I need to celebrate that. I love our country side, I love our welfare system (well the idea anyway), I like our cinema but a lot of other cultures and countries have things I like and I don't feel the need to celebrate them.

What, wave St Georges Flags all over the place for no reason. Thats just blatant patriotism, I'd never be caught doing that....???

Will celebrate by eating a curry, as for a bit of jingoistic sword rattling or flag waving, probably not.

I won't be celebrating at all. Well I might eat some baklava and them some Tayto and dream of home.

I think it's very indicative of this country that your own Saints days generally passes by without a murmur yet you go all out for other days. Sad really.

That is because the English are to blame for all the world's evils before Hitler arrived and are still in the naughty corner.

Haven't you seen Bravheart?

I shall read some Shakespeare in memory of our greatest genius who was born and died on St George's Day.

Nothing against St George's day but
as my wife's family are Greek Cypriots we will be celebrating Greek Easter which is a big deal for them.

They tend to fast during Lent and have a make up for it big timet on Easter Sunday. I pass on the fasting but make an appearance at the blowout.

I have a cousin who is married to a Catalunyan, St George is also their patron saint, as I believe he may be to the people of Georgia and possibly some other countries too. So far from being exclusively English he is in fact quite cosmopolitain, celebrate him how you see best, I am sure he wouldn't be bothered at all.
