How on earth did Walcott get a '7' rating in The Sun today?!

Steven Howard should know better. What is that paper's agenda?

Walcott did nothing last night, again, other than that early burst down the right wing and knock-back to Lampard.

Milner gets a 5, too. Idiots.

Rooney was in a different orbit to any other England player last night.

Rooney was in a different orbit to any other England player last night.

Was that the orbit of "Disinterest and hoping not to get injured"

It's the Sun, it pays Ian Wright for his opinion, no more needs to be said

It was Carrick that made the difference, actually started to pass in midfield. Walcott just isn't the same player he was last season hoping because of injury and just needs a few games to get back to being the player he was. Some of the Egyptians passing in the first half was superb and the speed the attack on the break was very impressive.

Egypt were only half decent in the first half as our midfield and defence let them knock it around. How many saves did Green actually make....? None..other than pick the ball out of the net, where as we created 4 excellent opportunities. I think we were fine going forward in the first half, just didnt get enough ball.

That is a disgrace in the name of player ratings.

He deserves a 3. MAX.

Was Steve 'Punch-face' Bruce giving the scores perchance?

As we all know, the Sun is a desperate rag,in a league of its own for printing tosh.

Walcott was his usual self last night. He is fast, but appears to have no other football ability (if fast counts as a football ability). If you watch him on telly with Arsenal he is the same.No football sense, just speed without direction.More often than not,no end product. No danger to anybody.

A true waste of time and money.Long John Silver might as well turn out for England. If Mr Capello takes this player he is wasting a squad spot.

Might even - I dread to say it - be better taking Ashley Young,and/ or Agbonlahor.

I also think Crouch should go,and somebody other than Defoe next to Rooney.Somebody good at holding the ball up and bringing others into play,as well as scoring the odd goal himself.

Where's Chris McPhee when you want him,eh?

Walcott tried to beat a few players but failed everytime. Not really done himself any favours after that performance. SWP looked a lot better when he came on.

Milner was good and I would love if he started instead of Lampard but I doubt that will happen.

Rooney seemed a little lost by having to play up front with Defoe, but was working hard and more often than not was back defending which showed his commitment but meant he wasn't in the final third enough.

I was impressed with Barry, second half especially.

Lampard was not good and Gerrard was pretty ineffective.

Baines didn't look good first half and was beaten a bit too often, improved second half but I was quite disappointed as I had high hopes for him.

Upson and Terry looked a bit shaky and defence is definitely my biggest concern with only a few games before the World Cup. I really think this is what will cost us going all the way to the final.

Walcott is rubbish, always has been. His performence last night changes nothing. The most overrated player in the Premiership.
