How much would you say Scott Dann + Cameron Jerome is worth?

How much did Jones go to Man U for? Scott Dann is probably "worth" about the same so yes, I guess that is £16m and on that basis if you include Jerome the bid would probably need to be £16.1m - great if you need a headless chicken but for a goalscorer he is truly awful.

Scott Dann is a promising young English defender. Still only 24 & may well go on to play regularly at an international level... £9-11m

Cameron Jerome is a hard one to call, his goal scoring record is pretty poor but is also only 24 & has has impressive spells for Birmingham... £5-7m

My rough estimate... £14-18m. They can't want much more in my eyes.

Scott Dann has no pace and no technical ability, plus he was in a relegated team. £5million at the most for him. As for Cameron Jerome, complete donkey in the strongest possible terms, he has nothing good about his game and if they reclaim the £4million they wasted on him the last time they were relegated, they'll be doing very well.

If I were in charge of Birmingham I would want £9million in seperate deals, but be more than happy if someone offered £6/7million to take them off my hands.

I watched Birmingham play several times last season both with and without Scott Dann and I can assure you that you are very wrong indeed about both his technical ability and pace. Indeed his positional sense, his awareness and his timing are of a very high order and if he continues to progress he could well make it to international level and certainly won't disgrace himself if he does.

I think you have been overly generous about Cameron Jerome though.

I won't dispute you've seen more of him than I have, but think Birmingham are being very ambitious in their valuations of both Dann and Roger Johnson (who I think is the better of the two).

I'd say £6-8m for Dann, who is a good defender but ultimately nothing special at the highest level.

About £2m for Jerome, who works his nuts off and is not a bad player but will never score regularly in the Prem.

But the question is how much is it worth for Birmingham to get back up at the first attempt? That's why they will ask for crazy money for these players.

Danns will NEVER play regularly for England (Terry, Ferdinand, Cahill, Jagielka, Lescott et al are all in front of him in the pecking order). Jones yet may. That, therefore is not a fair comparison IMHO.

Cameron Jerome has been consistently the WORST forward in the Premier league for the past two seasons. If he is worth in excess of £5m then I'm worth at least £3.5m and I'm terrible!? Just goes to show how depressingly inflated the British transfer market is...

For two players who were in a team that was relegated, Birmingham will try to get more than they are worth. But they will have to settle for a lot less to balance their wage bill. So the vultures will circle and pay 12m in total. Overpaid, relegated, and now trying to bail out. Leave em where they are! They should fight their own way back with a team they once signed for and were happy to take their money. Loyalty.

Injury to Dann was one thing that contributed to their relegation, he's a Premier League player.

Jerome's not, except as a squad player for a bottom half team.

I have several friends who were STH at St. Andrews last season and they are consistent in their view of both players, i.e.....
Scott Dann = Premiership player
Cameron Jerome = Parks player

They'd take any bid over 50p to get rid of Jerome, but they talk silly telephone numbers for Dann.

I'd say £20m for both, £12m for Dann and £8m for Jerome.
