How much 'should' and how much 'will' are two different matters and I don't honestly think that Knight will provide the necessary. He hasn't provided it for nearly two years now so why would he now?

Thats the reality of it ....if Dick can get away with it none will be spent on the team..and like last season lack of investment in the team will create a battle against relegation

theres worse things than being relegated - i'm quite looking forward to a potential league game at Bootham crescent next season - York is a top place for beer and footy.

Not neccesarily if we get relegated but have atable topping season next year the crowds will flock to wiithfdea\n and be batter than a mediocre season in league one. Fans fairweather or whatever want to see the lads winning even if at a lower level relegation may be a good thing as long as we bounce straight back.

From what i gather in all fairness to DK is he's trying to do it on a shoestring and lose as little cash as possible whilst Falmer is in the planning stages - wether you agree with this is up to you - but he has all the facts and figurs to hand where as we can only speculate.

Championship - higher gates probably but if stuggling maybe not but definitely higher wages for getting anyone in.

League 1 if doing well good gates - lower wages less cahnce of attracting players - in this case it's gone a bit wrong this season but if we stay up he's just about got away with it... again

League 2- if we go down shoul dbe flying top f the table - but some would have hoped for that this season - if we did do well at lower level gates would easily be as good and probably better than this season. Also wouldn't need to get so many players in.

True though it's a question of how long it can keep ticking over with out Falmer on the horizon.

Bit niave then if people thought we would do well this season- on the positive side there have been times when we've looked capable - who could forget tonking Huddersfield 3-0 away, a day to remember but there has also been far to many "withdean wobbles" as i like to call them when we have lost to poor sides at home.

But at a lower level we would easily be one of the best 3 side sin that division even with no squad improvements.

I'd hope we spend a little bit of the money on Whing, I am hoping Coventry are bluffling.

I think we also need an attacking central midfielder and a proven goalscorer to get us out of League 1 next season, if a bargain in those brackets is available now, I hope we won't wait until the summer. With the current squad left unstrengthened, we won't be challenging for promotion next season either, even though they will have a year's greater experience under their belts.

a cov mate of mine at their game yesterday told me that whing had a blinder and was their best player on the field and he thought that if they got rid of him it would be pretty unpopular amoung their fans who are already quite restless apparently at their league position.

I say with El Abd, we have a piano shifter, we need a piano player. What we need is another type of linking, passing central midfielder who will not allow the front two to get isolated as they were yesterday, the type of player that Scott Chamberlain was promising to be in the youth team.

If we can't find such a player, we should at least go back to West ham and give Tony Stokes another go, at least we know he wants to play for us.

I was fairly impressed with Stokes. However, he did look rather lethargic, but I remember reading he had a virus or something similar.

He is out until March after a dislocated shoulder, so I suspect he is not the solution.

In all fairness only saw him a couple of times, but i didnt think he was as bad as some made out.
