4 long lumps of steel (supports) - £800

Lots of corregated Iron - £1000

Builders - £800

contingency - £1000

I would do the whole project for £7k.

I belive that beacuse the stand is classed as temporary, to have a roof makes it permananet in the eyes of planning law.

Just like DTG's thread re the extra seats, this is another reason why we need Falmer.

In the words of Pink Floyd..."Not Now John, we've got to get on!"

Clearly not in the construction trade then.

Foundations including those in the nature reserve,
Windstresses for sheeting over temprary stand and special steel constructs to hold up a roof over people
Reduction of capacity as per guidelines to only those seats under cover
Obtaining planning permission.

No problems there then.

Sorted by next week.

I thought the temporary / permanent restriction was the reason why no roof can be added, but the other week at Hickstead they installed loads of temporary seating with roofs. Also at Silverstone when the GP is on huge temporary stands with roofs are installed. I think the reason may be more cost rather than planning restrictions.

Couldn't we just bring our own individual fold-away roofs, say a metre square that maybe slotted into little holes at the corners of the seats. Why, if we arranged them all proper like, they could have letters painted on top to form pleasing messages of encouragement such as 'Get Jakey On' or '4-5-1 At Home - How Refreshing' or 'Dont Even THINK About Sitting Back On A One-Nil Lead'.
