Never been punched at a game, though did get hit on the head with a sharpened 2pence piece, thrown by a double-hard Man Utd fan at Wembley. I was 12 at the time. He must have felt so proud.

I was elbowed by either a Pompey fan or Brighton fan in the North Stand. We beat them in the cup 1-0 (Edwards) and there was a fair amount of aggro with plenty of Pompeyites that had infiltrated the North Stand. I was only 11 at the time.

I am not sure it could be classified as a direct punch as it was actually a backswing to punch the other guy.

Absolutely no provocation at all, literally as we walked away from the ground as the two sets of fans start to mingle.

Thought I was going to get an absolute shelling at Port Vale but the mob dispersed as I arrived.

Got punched by a Chelsea fan at Peterborough before the cup game there in about 2000. Got caught in a police escort, except it was the one for their less than well behaved fans.

Oh and I got punched by a Telford fan outside their ground when I went up there with Aldershot a few seasons back. Personally I was not that sad to see Telford go bust.

Me and a few mates,15 at the time on the train got a pasting off a load of swansea after we got beat by them 3-0 or 3-1.....the game where Micky adams dropped half the team.

just leaving swansea train station...we were all well pleased to get a table.....

So off our jackets came to reveal 4 nicely ironed albion shirts.....a load of welsh started walking up and down the train..giving it.."ENLISH SCUM"....Then one of their lot...big kiddie about 20s...came rushing down and with the assistance of his bigger mate.....gave me a black eye, cut my mates head open and whacked the other...

Nice big shiner at xmas....

The other one which has been mentioned was the brizzle city away game in which we won 1-0.....walking past some shops......3 guys get out the car and in a brizzle acsent say" excuse me mate ooo arrrrr what was the scorrrrrre"

To which me mate replied Brighton won, one nill......out of the car came a kosh,and a large piece of wood......we escaped that one....and fcuking legged it!!

Wonder whether that was the same year I got punched... The police told us to avoid Peterborough town centre and redirected us round the ring road. As we passed the pub on the left-hand side, a bunch of twats were waiting outside in an ambush of sorts and I got lamped. Nice one police, cheers for that.

We walked on, then heard an almighty rumble as the pub boys (I think) got a battering from a load of Albion fans.

Yeah thats right, I think you were. These lads gave us a good hiding while people just sat and watched and as we walked past them after our beating we got comments like.."Hooligans"....

Only time i had a fan try and punch me was the 1-0 win at palarse and a big twat tried on a packed train from paddington,so beat the shite out of him,blood everywhere

Then we had a chat after and talked about our history
very surreal to say the leastmust have been 10-15 palarse on this carriage yet they tried nothing

Once, Huddersfield away at their old ground, we beat them...possibly something like 3-1...there was snow on the terrace behind the goal and it was empty, their fans left early and pelted us with snowballs, we had nothing to throw back...some bloke threw a punch at me from behind after we left the ground...very brave of him...catching me across the shoulder as I tried to get out of the way.

Goldstone Ground - a dozen West Hams fans "appreared" in the middle of us in the uncovered North Stand. Chaos follows - punches thrown - I was punched and then also dragged off the fence (that I was trying to climb over) and kicked. Then it was all over. Think we were stuffing them at the time - but it was definitely planned by the West Ham fans.
