Bookies certainly shortening the 'hung' and lengthening the 'majority'.

Oh good, years of mess again. Brexit delayed, more firms struggling with the uncertainty and everything in a bit of a pickle.

Do you REALLY believe that Johnson, given a majority, will have a new trade deal negotiated and 'Get Brexit Done' by the end of 2020?

Just like the bus, the easiest deal in history and a ditch by October 31st. REALLY

Glad I could rely on you this evening.

Was going to watch Bercow on Sky for my fill, but since you're here....you'll do.

The bookies chase the money.

At 12 midnight on the night of the referendum, leave was 12/1, and I thought of having some of it myself, just in case, but then thought “Nah, the bookies and polls can’t be that wrong”

I'm monitoring the current UK to Tel Aviv bookings on the El Al site to see if those hoping for a Corbyn led minority government are more likely to be celebrating later ...

We have to just hope and pray that enough people see sense to return a Tory majority even if it is only about 4 seats but an overall majority.none the less.

Define Sense, and how seeing should persuade people to vote Tory?

I'm hoping - quite possibly in vain - for quite a different outcome.

Having just read the last 50-60 posts, it is funny to see how the feeling has gone from a comfortable Tory majority, to a hung parliament!

Based on what?

If it's based on the odds, as Ernest says, the bookies are laying off their bets to reduce loses.

2 quotes, but still no answer. So, once again, Do you REALLY believe that Johnson, given a majority, will be able to negotiate a trade deal by the end of 2020? as he claims?

Have you invested in a non tory majority then. More than triple your money in less than 2.5 hours!

You voted no majority didn’t you? Enforcing my point that most who did will be disappointed imo. I suggest that most people are voting for what they want, not what they expect

I'm looking at Betfair, although bookies obviously use exchanges to manage liability.

There can be a bit of a herd mentality on things like this when the price starts to move. People shit themselves and adjust their position, even if banking a loss, to take their risk away.

But there can be very, very few people who have any sort of inside track on any meaningful data yet...

- Exit poll data collators. Presumably this stuff is fed back at various intervals to allow modelling to take place.
- Postal vote counters, although these will only have access to a very small sample.
