How many Albion fans living in London were successful in getting Spurs tickets?

I'm talking about the official away allocation of tickets and in particular those fans who posted their application from London (rather than asking a friend in Sussex to apply on their behalf and visit the ticket office).

I would like to know if others living in London who also posted their application from there were successful, because I posted mine the same evening that the announcement was made on the official web site, but I still missed out.

Was I unlucky with the post service or was it just not possible for a London-based fan to obtain tickets through the first come first served allocation, since Brighton/Sussex based fans were in a much better position to visit the ticket office in person and beat the post?

What was your experience?

it really wasnt done in date order was it

Do you know that for sure, or are you putting the fact that different people posted applications and some did and some did not get tickets?

I posted mine from Eastbourne on the evening after the anouncment and got tickets. I am sure they were done on date that they were received in the ticket office. The club cannot be at fault for the postal service.

I posted the day AFTER the announcement and got tickets. :drink:

Although I posted on the day of the announcement, it was too late for the letter to have been picked up until the next day, so our applications would have been made at the same time Wozza.

Looks like you got lucky and I didn't.

Our applications were posted from North Somerset and we got tickets. From other tales, I'd have assumed we'd have missed out.

If the tickets weren't given out in date order it is the fault of the ticket staff, not the club as a whole. Personally i think the staff there to be pretty good, so i believe it is the post that has f***ed us over :nono:

Posted a letter the day after, with switch card details, etc.

Was sent with the post from work, so may have included as priority post. Either way, couple of days later, 3 shiny tickets were on my mat at home.

I reckon, that because they could charge a switch card number straight away, I got in. Whereas counting up and banking shedloads of cheques would have taken longer. Although, I have no evidence that this actually happened.....

true - but there are quite a few people that say they posted on the day(or clam they did) and havent got them

I agree with you that it does seem as though the tickets were not done in date order, but at this time of year the postal service is a nightmare at best. I feel sorry for the people working in the ticket office. They have to orgainse tickets using a computer system that was salvaged from the Ark. When the big games come round, espically the ones like the Play-off final and Spurs game where the notice is very short, they have to do even more work. Yes they are paid to do a job, but they also have to use the equipment and rules that are given them by the club. These stories of people going in to the shop and having a go at them, makes me ashamed to be a fan.

I feel for those that applied and did not get tickets, I understand that this is one of the biggest games for a long time and we all want to be there if we can. The only fair thing that the can do in my opinion, is those that were unlucky with SPurs tickets, get first shot at tickets for the next game that is over subscribed, be it a FA cup game or league game.

posted from London on the wednesday first class - no luck
I honestly don't know the solution unless a voucher system is put in place. It was great in the old days of buying tickets online...never had a problem, but I guess it would be different now!!

I have a lot of sympathy for the staff at the club and the impact of the financial restrictions on their ability to invest in suitable systems for ticket allocation, but this situation has been running for a long time now (we've had games at West Ham, Grimsby two years ago and Reading 3 years ago to name a few where the some of the most loyal fans have missed out) and Martin Perry has consistently put his head in the sand and said "we can't please everyone, someone is going to miss out". This is true, but is it fair?

The club is keen to have us campaign on everything to do with Falmer (and God knows I've written enough letters, been on enough marches, bought the t-shirt (CD), etc...) and I am happy to support every new action that is required of us, but when the groundswell of opinion on ticket allocation is that they have got it wrong (BADLY), they don't want to know.

I am not satisfied that Martin Perry has tried hard enough or even given any real thought to addressing this problem.

That's a good point. Perhaps we should have another thread to see if more credit card payers got tickets than cheque payers.

Sorry to state the obvious but date of posting doesn't mean the same as date of delivery by the Post Office.

I think this is what the original post meant because he was specifically aksing who posted in London. So was the London sorting office understaffed that week?

Posted Wednesday morning first class from Tooting. Got four £25 tickets.

That's proved that they weren't processed in date order then.

I hand posted mine into the club shop the day they announced details and I got £30 tickets.
