The poll gives an option of 18 months ffs. Given the last 10 yrs, since Brian Horton in 1999, the life expectancy of a BHA manager is only 12 months. Over the last 18 months it is only 8 months (including close season, outside of close season it is 4 months). Thats why we are so shit. Please remember this when NSC is calling for Poyets head in "6" months time.

ps. Think Poyet is a good manager (again). Looking forward to loving him for 5-8 games and then defending him for the remaining 10 games before the south stand turn (again).

The problem is, he and many more so called fans are serious. The man is on a hiding to nothing.

I hope by he you didnt mean me as my earlier post was quite clearly a joke and was posted before the poll was even up.

I hope we are talking about a contract extension at the end of the season as that would mean he has been succesful and while i am prepared to give him until the end of his contract, if he is backed in the January transfer window and there is still no improvement it is only fair that questions would be asked.

In many ways if Slade had not been backed so heavily in the summer, he would probably have recieved a lot more patience from a lot more people.

I remember a poster asking the same question about Slade this August and got a right slagging (something that I thought was completely unreasonable) from people who said that Slade had plenty of time as he had so much good will.

As it turned out, the poster was spot on and those people who said that it was a ridiculous question were left looking foolish. I think Poyet does have more time (as he's a TB choice) but if we had only a 8 or 9 points from the next 20 matches, say, would the knives be out again?

If Poyet struggles in the first 15 games (and of course I hope he doesn't), it will be interesting to revive this poll. If we ignore the tongue-in-cheek Southampton answers, about 96% of us will give him at least to the end of the season.

I bet that if we've only got 8 or 9 points from the next 15 games, there'd be more than 4% of NSCers saying we should give him the boot.

It is easier to find players to tighten a defence than find goalscoring forwards, Gus is blessed in only having to sort the defence, we should be comfortably clear of relegation by the end of the season imo, or I will stop believing.

This season he should be able to at least stabilize the team finishing about mid table, and i expect Bloom to hand over a transfer kitty and a real push for promotion next season. Having said that i am realistic enough to see that if you look at the table this year there are some good teams ie Charlton,Norwich,Leeds,Southampton,Huddersfield,etc and only 3 can go up leaving some very good teams still in this division with maybe a couple of teams who come down pushing for promotion staright away. Therefore next season will be tuff allso so as long as we get in the play offs then i would consider that a good finish.

8 or 9? If we had 20 points from the next 20 games (ie 34 points from 35 games) there would be a call for his head. That's just the way it is on this board.
