nsc is notoriously reactionary. the fact is, he inherits a team that is short on confidence and leaking goals. personally, i don't belive he can turn this round straight away and will be patient when it comes to results. how long will you give gus before you make your mind up on whether he was the right appointment?

I remember a poster asking the same question about Slade this August and got a right slagging (something that I thought was completely unreasonable) from people who said that Slade had plenty of time as he had so much good will.

As it turned out, the poster was spot on and those people who said that it was a ridiculous question were left looking foolish. I think Poyet does have more time (as he's a TB choice) but if we had only a 8 or 9 points from the next 20 matches, say, would the knives be out again?

Indeed.

Sadly, I think expectations have been increased threefold as we have a 'household name'. Let's hope the cretins wind in their necks. Rome was not built in a day, afterall.

Until the end of his contract. I'm fed up with chopping and changing managers every five minutes, it's not helping anyone.

We need stability as a succession of managers is pointless and does nothing for confidence. The cock up of replacing Wilkins with Adams has in effect cost us two years so he needs time to get in the players he wants.

18 months minimum

Well if Roy Keane can keep his job after 14 games without a win, then I think Poyet will be at Brighton for a while. Good luck to him, what an appointment - awesome.

This time next season we should have a pretty good idea whether Poyet is taking us up or not. This season is a write-off and the rest of it will be used to get Poyet's own players, and way of playing, in. Personally I wanted an experienced manager in but then everyone has to start somewhere, so why not here and now! Go Seagulls!
